I could get on board with this WITH

Wins in next 2 games
Bowl win

I'm choosing to believe that your admin source is putting on a poker face, while your money source isn't.

We will have a new coach well before the bowl game.

I'd be very angry if we were one of the first jobs to open, buy out Les, only to promote a line coach

I don't believe he isn't interested, but I am fairly saddened that LSFU is in a position where we fired a Top 15 coach (maybe higher), and the best pool we have, after an extra long period to evaluate coaches , is Jimbo (who is undecided), Ed Ogeron, Larry Fedora ,and Houstons coach (who is big timing us with the Texas job).

If you told me this before last season, I wouldn't believe it.

Is the LSU just not that big of a deal? Is the AD just incompetent?

Ed fricking O has a really good shot of back dooring the LSU job because we haven't looked that hard, or the job isn't as desirable as we thought. Sobering news, indeed

This is lunacy. How do you hire O in early December and bank on him getting his target OC (who might get a better offer or a HC gig) and also know that he's gonna guarantee delivery of some 5-stars who are still almost 2 months from signing day?

LSU is like a leaky faucet. I'll never understand how this administration can't keep shite to itself, including the money people.

I've been telling this board for years not to expect a big-time hire after Miles leaves or is fired. It's just not the LSU way. Fedora or Orgeron, at this point, is a circa 90's hire. Frankly I'd rather take my chances with Aranda, assuming that is his ultimate goal.

It is O's job to lose. If he wins the next 2 games he has it, LSU is in contact with Fisher and a couple of other coaches as back plans.

So this is it, eh. Ole Joe likes that Cajun accent and the cheap price tag that goes with it?

If so, he'll have a new theme song in about three years when it all crumbles.

"Goodbye Joe, you gotta go, me-oh-my-oh
Get ole Ed and take the pirogue down the bayou"

Leaking information is a good way to check people's reactions and opinions of coaching candidates to help make a better final decision.

LSU isn't discounting Herman because of losses at Houston, it's because he's not interested in LSU.
Be careful. The Herman crowd is fierce. Their pitchforks are sharp.

He went from nothing to the hottest prospect based on a couple of games as well.

Well then. Guess it'll be coach O. I'd be shocked otherwise.

What? The? frick?

No. It's a good way to frick up behind the scenes negotiations, and put your side into positions it can't get out of.

That sounds like the M.O. if someone who doesn't know what he's doing. Joe better not be polling the public through leaks to the media!

Who cares what the public thinks if you get the right guy?

That's interesting. I wonder if Jimbo knows this. Is he willing to wait and see what LSU is going to do with Ed Orgeron? If I were Jimbo and I heard that LSU was undecided, I'd tell them to take a hike.
