Metrics of the contract is the ONLY thing that could stop this. WAYYYY more than just $$ per year. Buyouts, bonuses, assistant allocation... my guy even heard that Jimbo wants a residential stipend as well.

The more I think about this, I truly don't believe Jimbo will happen. I think people are underestimating the family aspect of this move. The divorce he had was bitter, and there is no denying that. Candi was banging ex-FSU and UF players with the high profile job her ex-husband has mean's this divorce didn't end with hugs and kisses and wishes of well being for the ex's. Also because of the quickness to get to a settlement consider the news that leaked out about Candi, means Candi got the short end of the stick - at least when it comes to the divorce settlement one can assume. You couple that with the talk that Candi loves Tally which means she probably doesn't want to move back to Baton Rouge and you can bet Fisher ain't moving without his kids tagging along. Obviously, money talks and you can better believe Candi's lawyers are drooling over the fact that Fisher will have to come back to the table if he wants to move. That could be an extremely expensive outcome and one that just might muddy up the waters too much.

I think because of the family issues all LSU will accomplish is getting Fisher a raise at FSU, I hope I am wrong but I don't think I will be. Also LSU has been in the market for over a month and everyone knows Fisher was a leading name for the job. If the deal isn't already done except for some minor details, it just doesn't sound right to me knowing what I know about business.

Appreciate the info guys.. I don't believe Alleva will go with O. Firing the winningest coach in Lsu history who has a natty is a big move. If he goes with O and it doesn't go well that's the end of alleva. I see alleva going with the safer bet and that's jimbo. If he says no then it's Herman that's also safer because he's such a hot commodity right now
And I'm not totally against O if jimbo says no. I think we lose a lot of players and we need a top class and O would for sure lock that up. I also believe Aranda for sure stays of O is retained. A good OC hire and we look good goin into next year. I think we have a lot of young talent that could contend next year

Is the housing $$ to help offset the no state taxes in fla? Or........is the housing $$ for the ex and kids with the fla Doctor only being a plane ride away?

I truly don't understand why you're getting some backlash for having conflicting sources. We witnessed serious ineptitude with the botch last season. This shouldn't be a surprise.

The "housing stipend" is for the side piece, right?

Is this the Jimbo equivalent of Miles' poon pad?

A house stipend avoids taxes on that income

Right

No offense to O but most avg coaches would be winning these games with this loaded and playing loose LSU team

For once we have no pressure in November to win and we have our most balanced team in quite some time..

Just really feel we can do better

I love O but not to get us over the hump when the sec gets better and past Bama

Really want Herman

This. Herman could lose the rest of his games and I'd still want him just as bad. Why? Because I've done my research on him and love the direction he would bring the program.

If Jimbo believes it's down to CEO and himself then why not shoot for the moon as far as a package goes. It's your resume versus a guy who was fired from a HC job and held 2 interim jobs on his resume. If I were Fisher I'd try breaking the bank too. Plus he knows the area and how deep some of the pockets are around here.

LSU down to CEO and Jimbo

Only at LSU would CEO be on the same plane as Jimbo.

Hiring Coach O in any circumstance would be a colossal blunder. Hiring him if Herman or Jimbo is available and interested would be inbred lunacy rivaled only by the disastrous decision to retain Archer instead of Spurrier.

It's down to O and Jimbo . . . A decision hasn't been made yet. 50/50 right now.

hiring basically another Miles that depends so much on coordinator hires

Miles was his own offensive coordinator, so that debunks that theory.

LSU isn't discounting Herman because of losses at Houston, it's because he's not interested in LSU.

The housing stipend is not new but not that common. Saban has one in his contract, plus he ownership of a Mercedes dealership though I am not sure if that is through the boosters or the university. Is Sexton Jimbo's agent by any chance?
