Admin - It's down to O and Jimbo. The bloom is off the Herman rose. A decision hasn't been made yet. 50/50 right now.

Money - It's Jimbo's job if he wants it and he wants it. Metrics of the contract is the ONLY thing that could stop this. WAYYYY more than just $$ per year. Buyouts, bonuses, assistant allocation... my guy even heard that Jimbo wants a residential stipend as well. If it doesn't happen, O and Herman are neck and neck. Herman isn't tipping his hand at all.

Maybe he thinks Herman is out because he hasn't shown definite interest? Or does he think we're not interested in Herman?

So if Herman, Jimbo or Coach O land the job you will be able to say you nailed it.

Pretty good odds.

Thanks for the info as always. It fricking baffles me that deciding between Jimbo and O is a 50/50 decision

Now THIS is right in line with what my people have been saying. FWIW they had everything right last year so I have no reason to think they would BS me. Ed is not out of this like some of you think. Especially if LSU wins out. Supposedly Ed retaining the job comes with a big time OC hire as well as some commitments that would lock down a top 3 recruiting class.

I think all this discounting of Herman is idiotic. He goes from the hottest prospective coach to someone no one wants due to a few bad games at Houston? His players at Houston have checked out. Everyone knows Herman is gone after this year. It is hard to motivate and inspire when the players know the coach is leaving. I don't believe Texas is a lock to fire Strong. Plus, even if they did fire Strong, we really don't know how Herman feels about the LSU job vs Texas. I think it should be 50/50 between Herman and Jimbo, and coach O a distant third. If Jimbo wants too much, go after Herman. I'm thinking Herman will definitely listen and he is a damn good coach.
