I get the losing streak is not good, but you don't fire a coach after one year unless things are systemically broken. Otherwise you end up in the situation where you blink and your franchise QB has had 4 OCs in 4 years.

That’s insane.

If Tua stays healthy, which is a big “if” - I know, they make the playoffs easily.

Miami couldn’t even keep their QB2 healthy this season. Which, again, isn’t surprising considering who it is…

They want Sean Peyton.

There is a difference between getting fired and getting replaced.

If they actually can go get Sean Payton you have to do that.

And I Like McDaniels. Tua’s brain getting mashed up all season isn’t exactly his fault.

Firing another coach of color this close to the last? Get ready for the PR hit that's coming - whether it's fair or not.

They want Payton apparently. But can they afford him?

-get a pick from the dolphins for payton
-fire dennis allen
-hire McDaniel

that's a solid start to the offseason

Can the Saints just trade for McDaniel?

would be pretty ballsy to fire a somewhat...kinda...minority coach after only one season.

You do if you think there is a MUCH better option you can hire. All speculation, of course, but if Dolphins ownership has word that Sean Payton would accept the job if offered, you make that move ASAP. It wouldn't be because McDaniels was bad. It would be because your other option is much, much better.

Put it this way. Say you have been dating a cute girl from work for a year. Things aren't perfect, but she is cute and you like her. You see no reason to break up and go out with someone else. Then one night you are lying in bed and your doors fling open with a naked Margot Robbie standing there wanting you. You now have to revisit your position with this new option presented to you.

Unless Sean Payton wants to live in Miami with Tom Brady as his QB

Considering all the damage they probably aren't banking on Tua being the franchise QB for long.

Dumb to fire him. Dolphins have been garbage last making the playoffs in 2016 as a wildcard. Haven’t won the division since 2008.

They’re better now than they have been. If Tua wasn’t so fragile they’d easily be in the playoffs

You do if Sean Payton is available.

To me they weren't interested in running the ball.

McDaniel traded for Jeff Wilson and Mostert who knew the system and yet they are dead last running the ball or at least in the bottom three in the league.

Tua had two concussions and when he came back McDaniel continued to air it out and wouldn't you know it, Tua got knocked woozy again and stayed in the game!

I mean maybe he didn't let on that he was hurt but that looks suspect as hell to me.

As far as the play calling, maybe he was taking orders from upstairs to showcase Tua. So, I'll tone my criticism of McDaniel. But something strange is going on with that team so it wouldn't shock me if they made a change.

Again.

Should have stuck closer to his mentor’s actual offensive system…run the ball and protect your QB.
