I love how O supporters are pushing the Canada is the bad guy angle. As if O wasn’t an egotistical maniac at OM and wouldn’t let Canada run his offense here.

Canada was a noted a-hole at other stops that had issues with coaches. O let him run his offense here outside of one half against Troy. It is what it is.

The fact that he was yanked off the recruiting trail may give a hint. It certainly shows he’s not 100% innocent in this whole ordeal like most of the rant is suggesting. He certainly did something.

I think both him and O did something. If it was just Canada they’d fire him for cause. If it was just O he’d force LSU to pay the full contract.
My guess is there’s stuff that would embarrass both Matt and LSU, so they all settled for less and had non-disclosure agreements.

Assuming he lands another job for next season he isn’t out of that much money. Monetarily, Small victory for lsu. For Canada he gets guaranteed $1.7 & can openly find work as an unemployed coach
The plan was for him to get hired without this happening but he couldn’t catch on anywhere

This is not true at all. Lol at rich rod. Really hard to fire someone for cause - the fight would be messy and neither side would want it.
The deal is not a lose for Canada - he probably gets the cash up front with no requirement hat his future pay offset. It’s basically like the lottery. He smartly took the payout and everybody walks away amicably.
