From what I understand, Canada didn't want to really "sync" his offense with the game plan during games. He didn't want to clock manage his offense. This was an issue starting with the MSU game and then they had that meeting after the Troy game, which I am not sure what kind of agreement they came to or what exactly was achieved. Didn't Canada leave NC State because he didn't really get along with the coaching staff? I am not saying it is his fault. I am not being pro or anti O, I am just saying some of you people are reading too much into this.

Next OC: Hugh Freeze

That was very well known. O doesn’t get that pass. If you knew he had prior issues with HC’s messing in his offense, and you can’t give up control to your OC like you promised then shame on you Ed.

It’s very evident Ed hasn’t changed whether Canada was part of the problem or not

Same thing I said. This is a big time blow to the program but hey maybe Ensminger will make it work.

It tells me that Matt Canada and LSU both realize this was a bad fit this is the most beneficial way for both parties to move on.

But y'all keep on believing whatever conspiracy theories you want to believe

It tells me Canada didn’t want to spend the money to go through litigation and pay back a portion of the buyout from his next job.

He ain’t losing much money on this.

He's probably getting it all up front and the offset if he gets another job is gone...so it's likely close to a wash.

And LSU could have said "alright, we're not going to fire you. Take the settlement or resign."

Tough to clock manage whe you’re getting your stool pushed in. Looks like Bayou Flintstone wanteda scapegoat.

I think they decided to part ways, Matt agreed to find a job elsewhere, he couldn’t find anything near what he was making here, then decided to dig in, both parties eventually decided a court battle would make all involve look bad....and here we are.

I wonder if the settlement includes Canada having to be quiet about what went down during his time here

Probably took half to avoid LSU and O running him down in public and Canada not ever getting another good job. Canada isn't looking like an easy guy to work with given his last 3 stops. He probably just wants to move on to the next job and rehab his image to get another big payday down the road.
