I wonder what Canada was so afraid of that he took a settlement. If he was just straight up fired no way he’d take less.

If he plans on working in 2018 and 2019, he stands to make more by settling. If he makes more than 800k/year he comes out ahead.

Yeah everyone saying this proves Canada's guilt aren't thinking that maybe he doesn't want to be here/work for O.

Take a year salary and go find another job.

Nevertheless, a very strange situation.

Florida did this exact thing with McElwain this year

Talking more about hiring an OC and firing him 1 year later because he and the HC can't get along. Not the settlement.

Sorry that this didn’t work out, but let’s get on with hastening O’s departure when (and if) he installs E.

More like LSU asked him how much he would have to spend on lawyers to get his 3.3 because they wouldn't pay it without a reduction

Hated we couldn't get a good fist fight between O and C. Hell, I would have driven down in b the middle of the night to watch that. Each have a few drinks, shirts ripped off and fists flying until one coulfn't get up. I'd put $35 on O.

And not a single post mentioning how Joe Alleva got someone with guaranteed money to take less. Haters to maximum.

I sure can't cry for someone walking away with 1.7 mill.

He gets half the money and he has to do zero of the work. These things are frequently negotiate particularly if he’s free to take employment without an offset

This is an accurate reflection of what’s going on in Ceauxch 0’s head. Dumps a Broyles finalist cuz they want to go in a different direction offensively. Yaw yaw yaw. B aw baw baw. Naw naw naw...

I'm sorry but this is a dumb statement. It's sort of laughable (or shameful?) that it's being repeated on local talk radio.

All the settlement implies is that Canada thinks he can land another good paying job and would prefer a lump sum payment with no strings attached. That's it.

No, it's really not. If you've ever worked for a big, powerful organization, you would understand how much they enjoy not paying or delaying paying people/small companies as much as possible, just because they can.

He didn't do anything. He didnt want to be at LSU

So why didn't LSU let him step down and not pay him anything?
