Nice, thanks for the insight. Please tell your friend that is close to Jimbo that cas4t from tigerdroppings said he'd gladly provide Jimbo a lifetime supply of corndogs if he comes to LSU.

It is but you have to remember that the OC will be Jimbo, so whoever is OC won't be making but 500-750, not to mention by all accounts Les is getting back into coaching so his buyout payments will probably disappear or at the very least be less than originally planned.

O would basically be getting "OC" money and The actual OC would be making only slightly more than regular assistants

It makes financial sense, it's not outrageously more than we had with Les+Aranda+Cam

That's a whole lot of lot of staff to force a new coach to retain.

i could see them doing that if it were Herman

For Jimbo, no way do they have leverage to force him to retain anyone.

Aranda, yea

offer O a job, yea. He likely wont take it.

everyone else is on the chopping block

I'd think Raymond is safe too.

so the new guy will chose to not bring in his own people and keep a bunch of les leftovers? I dont buy this BS. Only person a new guy may keep is Aranda and money says they make 1.5 mil and not 2. Coach O would be a good keep but if he is passed over he leaves just like he did at USCw

Probably correct. Keep in mind Jimbo likes Craig and Raymond. He's always liked them both. O being kept for recruiting and DL purposes makes sense. Ensminger, eh. Take him or leave him. But the other guys make actual sense.

Will do.

How is your family btw? Everyone fully recovered from that fire a couple years ago? Can't remember - did they rebuild the business, or not?

Jimbo seems loyal so he is going to leave all the FSU assistants out in the cold hoping that the new guy at FSU keeps them? I dont see that happening. I still think yall get a good guy and Fisher may be it, but he turned it down last year correct?

Wasn't someone's tin foil hat theory that CEO was told from the start that Jimbo was the guy? Could he be keeping it quiet to collect x number of dollars per victory? That would actually be pretty cool and a heck of an incentive.

The signs have been there the whole time. LINK

I think it gets more difficult to ask Jimbo to retain multiple offensive coaches, as that's his side of the ball, but who knows for sure.

Aranda, yea
I don't disagree with this. But it may not be about forcing anything. This may be something that Jimbo wants. Like Luke Fickell at OSU. We all know how great O is at recruiting. Especially within the state. I can't see a coach not wanting that.

But if Jimbo doesn't agree to keep anyone other than Aranda, we still need to do it IMO.

There's as much truth to that as there is that Saban was ready to go to Texas. Conflicting reports on both sides.

Works for me. I think Herman would work out, but understand this move.
We could do a shite ton worse

The issue I see with this scenario is that the assumption would be Herman to Texas. If that is the case you would have to assume literally the first person Herman would contact would be his old roommate Dave Aranda. If that happens I don't think we keep Aranda because UT will pay whatever is needed to get him. Aranda is obviously not a secret at this point so retaining him is going to be difficult in a situation like that I would assume.

the decision makers probably believe that the only thing missing from LSU winning another championship was QB development and play calling. Both of which Jimbo does better than Miles.

They might be trying to sell the notion to Jimbo that we just need "YOU" to win it all...

I believe this is why they fired Miles so early in the season. A) he didn't change his offense despite the off season promises. B) it didn't allow the political pandering by Miles to keep his job. C) it was rumored Jimbo wanted Miles to resign/retire/step aside so he wouldn't be the reason Miles was fired. This way, Miles was gone months before a "new coach" decision is made.

Jimbo has been the focus since last Nov. They might have figured out how to get him after all.

You get Jimbo so he only needs a figurehead at most for a OC. Heck, he pretty much will be the OC. Saves money and streamlines the process and Jimbo can handle it. Let him shape the offense anyway he wants and trash the current playbook forever more.

Rebuilt the biz and then decided to go another route. Grandfather bought a truck or 2 and is hauling lumber now. Much better than the woodworking that was taking a toll on his body. Thanks for asking

Retain Aranda at $2 Million/year.
Retain O for $1 Mil plus $750,000 bonus for doing a good job as interim
Give Corey a promotion (unclear to what)
Retain Ensminger, but as TE coach
Retain Dameyune Craig, I assume as WR coach.

I don think any coach will come if he cant choose his own staff. Usually they keep 1-2 around to ease teh transition. He'd be an idiot to not keep Aranda. O would be nice to keep for recruiting. I think thats about all you can hope for.
