Faulk was mostly a PR win hire for O/DP

Again. If anyone wants to transfer because they don’t want to be at LSU for LSU the door can hit them on the arse on the way out.

I don’t mean that directed to any player. I’m just sick of the rumors. Anyone who wants to go can get their arse gone.

If Kelly doesn’t want to retain Faulk then thanks for your service Faulk. Everybody is replaceable.

Once again. This is a total reboot. Roots coming up with the stump.

I’m fine with whatever Kelly wants to do. He has a history of building great programs and hiring very capable coaches.

For the first time since Saban, coaching changes ain’t got me worried one fricking bit.

This. Kelly's results speak for themselves, let him bring in whoever he wants.

It was the same thing when Bama hired Saban. They had surrounded themselves with Bear Bryant disciples for decades and it cost them. Saban came in, ran things his way and forced a culture change, and you know the rest.

Was he even that good as a RB coach?

I think Raymond leaving and Wilson’s hiring pretty much told us what we need to know about Faulk’s status. If he were going to be retained, it would have been announced by now.

As others have said, Faulk is awesome, but he was over his head as a coach.

I hope they are able to keep him as a staff member or analyst.

You can also keep him on staff to learn from Frank. Clearly money is not the issue these days. Call him whatever you want; like this random DB coach/ analyst brought in

News will come out soon but I have been told that CBK will not be retaining Kevin Faulk. Sucks for Faulk and feel for him but you also have to be ok with a coach bringing in who he wants.

Kinda saw the writing on the wall when WIlson was hired. I'd still keep Faulk on staff somewhere, even if it's just as an analyst. Faulk isn't trying to make a career as a coach if it isn't at LSU, so it's not about the money or career building for him. He's still valuable to the program even if it's not as an on-field coach.

Could have just given him a title to keep him here.

It’s been speculated that he wanted to step away.

This could be mutual

BK tried to hire Ohio State's RB coach as soon as he got the LSU job. Faulk was never in the plans.

It's funny that hours after the hire was announced, it was reported that Raymond and Faulk would be retained.

I'd love him to be an alumni ambassador for Football Ops or something. Bring in our former players for steak dinners and keep them engaged in the program.

Kevin Faulk if you see this, you are welcome to come eat a steak with me and my family anytime.

Ok so every time we go through this with one of our coaches, the board blows up with "say goodbye to" posts. Does ANYBODY here think that CBK DOESN'T understand the dynamic at play when he lets go a coach with LSU ties..IE-Faulk/Raymond?(Yes.. I think he let Raymond go, as in, he didn't try to stop him). Do you guys think that SW doesn't understand how recruits/players feel about Faulk/Raymond? It's laughable at this point that we have so many people that still believe our new HC is oblivious as to who to retain/let go! There's a reason these things are happening and it's all to try and better the LSU football program!

Both Trev and Kevin were instrumental getting Sage to LSU. You fire Kevin a year later, how do you think this is going to go over?

Can confirm this. Faulk has been informed he's not being retained.
