No complaints here. It was amusing to watch in the stands. At one point, you could see a line of people trying to get over there to join them. The blob of people grew significantly.
Waiting until (or attempting to wait until) the end of his current team’s regular season isn’t “dragging this out”. That has always been the anticipated timeline by potential suitors (I.e. LSU). The only reason things have been hairy is because Ole Miss is frustrated that he hasn’t signed his extension. So they are nervous, rightly so, and have been pressing the issue. We have known all along what Kiffins desired timeline was.
Also factor in the portal and early signing day. Teans, and coaches for that matter, want to have their situation settled prior to that so they dont miss out on recruits. Its a big factor in the timing of this. You can put a healthy amount of blame on the NCAA for that. If they want to promote an atmosphere where coaches can finish out a season with their current team before moving on, then push those dates back!

You’re high, aren’t you?
Maybe. But he's OUR moron. Glad he was/is a Tiger!
IMO, in order to hire a coach, you should be at least 18y/o.

For some reason its all too much show. Somethings feels off with it. I hope we get Lane but how dumb are we about to look if he stays at Ole Miss??

I don’t th8nk so. We’re in legitimate “distraction” territory. This very well could become a big distraction for his football team, causing them to squander a great opportunity. Why risk that just to troll? I think it’s more likely that Lane hasn’t fully made up his mind yet. Or, he has, and he’s gone but wants to finish things at Ole Miss. I’m leaning toward undecided, though.
I dont understand why so many of yall are so infatuated woth money. Its not our decision and we aren't paying it. I simply want the best coach we can get for whatever the powers that be are willing to pay. I want winning football. I want to compete for championships.
We don’t have a dedicated ST coordinator. It was a shared job. One of BK’s biggest blunders, imo.

This. Should've just left him alone.

My opinion is that Ole Miss is screwing themselves. They’re pushing Lane out. They have their best shot at a natty in like 50 years. Lane brought them back to relevancy. What they should be doing is communicating with his agent, offering a nice pat raise, but leave it OUT of the media. Instead, they’re causing more drama than our governor did with the BK and Woodward fiasco. They’re pushing Lane out, and it’s a bad look.
Or he’s just doing his due diligence.

That goal line stand was pretty clutch, too.

He's a very good offensive mind. But hes not head coach material. I hope they give it to him.
Don't bring the band into this mess. Theyre an LSU treasure!

Is LSU football really still an elite program?

Yes.

“But muh 3 titles this century” can only get you so far. 2019 was great, but we have done nothing outside of that since 1/9

Name all the programs that have done that this century. The list is extremely short. Hence the term “elite”.
Fortunately for us, specifically in the PR realm, we have an email from BK stating he was willing to negotiate the buyout. So that, at the veey keast, gives us a little bit of cover and buys us some time.

I’ll choose to believe you are telling the truth. You are wouldn’t break my heart like that would you

Again, I’m not claim8ng it will happen. I’m still skeptical as well. I do want to believe, though.

Announcement will be made tomorrow

First, I don’t have any sources. Everything I have is hear-say only.

A friend of mine has a text message from a former offensive staff member, still closely associated with the university/program that states this. It is supposedly a short-term transition-type deal where he comes in as head coach for 2 years, then hands it off to his successor: someone he is supposed to bring with him. (no clue whom that successor is). At that point, NS will step into a mentor type roll.

I still have a hard time believing that he will coach again. So I’m taking this information with a grain of salt.

We're getting a yes man as a coach. Don't think that's Kiffin.

You don’t fire a winning coach, and pay him tens of millions of dollars to leave, just to hire a “yes” man. If you’re going to 8nvest that kind of money to get rid of a guy, you’re going to look for someone with the qualities that guy didn’t have. So let’s look at the notable things mentioned about BK thst have recently come to lite: work ethic - not attending full practices, golfing and vacationing too much and at key times, and not being hands-on in recruiting. So you’re looking for someone who is a relentless recruiter, is personable, and has a high work ethic. Look for someone who is passionate about coaching. Now, there are certainly some other things that need to exist. But I don’t think a the things I listed fit well into a “yes” man. And if they did, he’s probably still a damn good coach because of the aforementioned mentioned attributes.
