Watching Clemson reporters talk about their team the vibes seem very low and depressing

No wonder…

I was watching a PJ Woodland interview on YouTube, and the interviewer asked him what’s been different between the old staff and the new staff. He immediately pointed out Coach Savage and mentioned how Savage has him working out with Whit and TJ, whereas the previous staff had players working out strictly within their position groups. He also said Coach Kiffin splits their time between an hour on the field for practice and an hour in the weight room. Last year, they only spent about an hour total between practice and lifting.

He had some type of soft tissue injury nothing major though

Stephiylan Green

I rewatched the Clemson game, and Stephiylan Green played really well. I’m not sure how much of that was because our O-line was terrible last year, but he definitely stood out, and he was supposed to be one of their projected starters this year. So, if we have two true freshmen playing better than him right now, I think we’re in really good shape. Dom played well in that game too.

I’d rather start the freshman like we did with Will and Emory and just live and die with their mistakes. One thing’s for certain: eventually, the light is going to come on, and when it does… ohhh my!

Mascona and Shea said this

Jhase Thomas

Sounds like he started the majority of the scrimmage, had a great spring, and the staff really loves his potential. I love his combination of height and speed, and with his dad having played in the league, you have to love the pedigree too. Do you guys think the staff is giving him these reps because he’s next up if there’s an injury, or does he have a legitimate chance to win a starting job? I feel like Cooley made plays last year and was reliable, but I also think Jhase has a higher ceiling because of his physical talent.

Per Mascona Jhase has taking over the other safety spot as of now

Dabo Swinney

Just watched Dabo’s interview after their scrimmage today, and he sounds like he knows they might be in over their heads. ?? It was also funny hearing him recall the Bama-LSU game from ’98. Dude can definitely ramble, but he lit up when he started talking about how awesome LSU is.
Eugene Wilson if he stays healthy will have a very good year
Everyone will be on D. Jones nuts after the Clemson game

Dom McKinley

Going into Year 3, there still hasn’t been much talk coming out of camp about him having a good camp. Nothing really seems to have changed besides his body maturing. The same concerns are still there, especially his pad level being too high.

I’ve seen several videos of other guys putting in work this offseason, whether it’s in groups or individually, but I’ve yet to see much from him. Maybe he just doesn’t post it, but with three true freshmen coming in and already making noise, at what point do you tell yourself, “I better pick it up, or I’m going to get passed up”?

Right now, he’s on that Chris Davenport trajectory if he doesn’t pick it up.
I agree. Sam doesn’t give me that same feeling Joe and Jayden did when they transferred in, which is probably why Lane tried to steal D. Williams from Washington. But I’ve also seen what Lane has done with QBs who weren’t on Joe or Jayden’s level and still managed to produce the No. 1 offense in the conference. That’s why I have confidence in what he can do with Sam.
I’m probably in the minority, but I think BB is just an okay defensive coordinator. My biggest issue is that he feels like a one-trick pony if his blitzes don’t get home, we’re in trouble. I think there’s going to be a lot of pressure on him this season because the offense should be really good, which will put an even bigger spotlight on how the defense performs.
Harlem Berry I think there’s so much untapped potential there and Deshawn Spears I think he’s going to be so much better at the star position
Don’t think too much into that it’s just building depth in case of an injury. Cooley is very reliable back there.
The thing you're forgetting is that Lane is probably the best offensive mind in college football. He can make an average quarterback look elite. Sam has a good arm, can make plays with his legs, and has far more weapons than that ASU team ever did, all while being paired with a great coaching staff.

What I do agree with is that Blake Baker needs to improve against running quarterbacks, and he needs to know when to dial back some of those exotic defensive looks.

Lastly, Joe Sloan was the offensive coordinator last year, and his play-calling was terrible. It was predictable, and a lot of teams took advantage of that. I don't see Texas A&M having the same success this year because of the reasons I just mentioned.
If you make him your coach after seeing him at LSU with all the resources to be succuessful what makes you think he'll be sucessfull at a lesser school
Wide receiver room full of pretty boys lol

Good thing he got that first round money
He’s wasn’t dominant in college anytime he went against elite edge rushers he got beat bad
