TCU is getting a huge addition to their program as multiple sources have told HornedFrogBlitz on Tuesday afternoon that former LSU linebacker Marcel Brooks is headed to the Big 12 program.

Brooks entered the NCAA transfer portal on June 26 and TCU immediately became the favorite as the athletic defender said he wanted to play closer to home. Sources told HFB that Brooks is on campus today (Tuesday) and will be able to start working out with the team as soon as he passes a physical.

So was this a “be close to family” thing or an “I have no place in this 4-3” thing”?

TCU gonna be a force with all the recent pick-ups (including number 1 RB from Northshore). That said, still no match for the LSU Tigers. We still coming

Yeah they might be able to improve from 5-7 and actually go .500 with those two.

He helped win a NC at LSU and has 3 rings to show Fort Worth/TCU. Good for recruiting. He’s moving home to play for Gary Patterson at a great university. You will be missed young man! Thank you for your contributions!

I think this shows the family issue (sickness) was real and now he will be close to home. I wish him luck and glad we don't have to face him in the SEC!

I do not agree with your comments. Closer to home my ass. College kids all over the country play away from home. If you commit, stand by your word. If he is fortunate to play in the pros will he only play for Dallas or Houston so he can stay close to Mommy and Daddy?

I haven't been this disappointed since I got sucked into the hype train of Phelon Jones. Wish the best but wish he could have found it here.

Best of luck Marcel. Would’ve loved to see you stay but you need to do what’s best for yourself and your family. TCU is getting a good one, he was just scratching the surface here of what he can be. Thanks for your hard work and thanks for being a Tiger

Well he is shortening his closeness to home by 100 miles and 1 and a half hours. Still over 300 miles from Lubbock to near Dallas. Good luck Marcel. Gonna miss you.

I just don’t understand why he can’t last just 2 more years away from home until he’s god knows where in the NFL.
