re: We are not rebuilding

Name the corner stone or franchise players of this team?

No offense to either McCoy or Davis whom I love

But McCoy while our best OL probably isn't even Top 15 in the league

Davis is gonna be 36?

WTF are we doing

We have White less talented Dak Prescott
We have the unfortunate ending of a brilliant career in Cam Jordan on our books

We have more holes than answers and still a lot of questions on this roster...like what the hell are doing

3 years minimum of Carr being on the books as a major cap hit now. Fricking stupid.
So now the Saints aren't content ruining my Sunday they are trying to wreck the whole weekend this fall
I think i just had my most unrealistic best draft on profootballnetwork

Mykel Williams DE UGA 6'5 260
Nick Emmanwori S USC(E) 6'3 227
Alfred Collins DT Texas 6'5 313
Hollin Pierce OT/OG 6'7 342
DJ Giddens RB Kansas 6'1 212
Terrance Ferguson TE Oregon 6'4 245
Rylie Mills DT Notre Dame 6'5 295
Carson Vinson OT Alabama A&M 6'6 314

Would have liked to get a WR but fixing the trenches is never something I would beat myself up over
Both

Ireland has been slightly vindicated by Zach Baun, Trey Hendrickson and others

Loomis let them out the door for lesser talents...Davenport, Turner, Foskey specifically

I don't know about Penning, or Ruiz who vouched or banged the table that may not even be on Ireland

Sean could draft any player he fell in love with and there would be no organization push back

I also question the general football IQ of HC Dennis Allen and his draft strategy or draft acumen for roster building...he knows DBs but has proven he knew nothing else

For better or worse Loomis as long as he is GM...and I hope this is the case...goes back to being a backup singer or bass player and not the lead man

Let Moore shine or fallout on his own. I like the staff...let him and Ireland build the roster and Mickey just needs to make the money workout while not contributing directly to geriatric football players 401k

TE is a luxury pick

We don't have a
QB
Longterm RB
No.1 WR
OL has holes
DL has holes
Best LB is almost 40
Safety

At 9 if TE is the best pick trade back
Define should?

Play?
Pay/Production?
Perfect timing/Nothing to prove?

Play - Ben Simmons. Worst LSU Tiger in my lifetime and I just want any and all affiliation to end

Pay/Production - Cam Jordan. All time Saint...but nothing he is doing anymore warrants over 10 million a year on a team stuck in the downward spiral

Perfect Timing/Nothing to Prove - Bronny James
Hard to judge a WR coach when we were playing UDFAs, rookies, and street guys most of the year at his position not to mention OL issues, QB injury and our Haener/Rattler starting QB combo

Olave and Shaheed also isn't a WR Corps...just two nice WRs and they both missed a lot of games as well
It's one thing to do it for Drew and Sean

The fact that we were still doing it for Allen and Carr/Dalton/Jameis is what should make everyone irrationally angry.
Pretend tough guy?

Dude won a gun fight with a pistol vs an assault rifle

Killed 2 guys while initially unarmed and suspended from work

Was the lone survivor of a cartel bombing

And only got killed because his brother in law was being a pussy and called for a backup team of like 12 guys all armed that ambushed them
Kinda funny when you think this is the team that has us pushing against the tax lol
Saints are probably just a visit so he can negotiate a better price with another team

Jackson
Holly
Durham
Berry
Lindsay

Yeah let's crowd that room and take touches away even further

If Jackson gets right that group is scary as hell especially with Nuss at QB
If Les Miles reads this post/stat

He will go from 6 to midnight without taking his ED pills

re: New coach hire

Posted by partywiththelombardi on 12/29/24 at 5:14 pm
Loomis needs to go or I vote no confidence in the organization

He hired Dennis Allen and after 3 years he was still pushing cap to the future to make awful deals...not hindsight awful deals...in the moment everyone knew they were terrible like Derek Carrs renegotiated deal...or Kamaras and I love Kamara but unless your team is decent and we aren't, haven't been, and won't be for a long time...you don't pay declining RBs at or over 30.

Allen gets terminated mid-season as he definitely deserved to. However I was one of many who believed this was all inevitable and he should be let go last offseason...i was also in the camp that was he shouldn't have ever been hired but I accepted the logic behind his initial hiring...because I'm a fan...make that dumbass pitch to a banker or auditor and get your arse laughed out the building. We hired the hired the losing record and turmoil driven ex-Raiders coach but not Jon Gruden lol

Micky not only goes on record saying results don't matter...and preaches about what good organizations do at the expense of results, consumer satisfaction, the best interest of the team etc...the last public statement he made was him sucking off Allen on his way out the door...you know the guy your owner and boss just let go

The next HC hire won't matter

Most coaches get 3 years

We will spend the next 3 years just fixing our cap.

I'm only 35 so I'm not one of these older fans who have ever truly endured absolute hopelessness like some of these old timers

But since the cap has been around which is at least a respectable baseline to bridge eras

We have never been this bad with no way out like our only option is to stack picks...and the only way to do that is to eat an insane amount of dead money because every Vet on our roster over 30 is getting paid no matter what for the next 2-12 years

Kamara does what great pros do

Evolves

Kamara has matured as a route runner, works insanely hard on concentration and balance

It's just a Top speed thing he can't hit anymore. He still makes great plays and performs at a high level.

2017 Saints vs Skins

Watched that today instead and wow. What a game.Trade blows, Washington starts to pull away and then the Saints completely dominated in the clutch. The dome was rocking and almost everyone had their moments...even Colby Fleener and Mante Teo

Mark Ingram was running like a machine definitely his prime

Kamara had a gear he doesn't have anymore. Still a really good back

Drew was Drew...he was pretty good all game...then just got completely dialed in and every drive was going to be a scoring drive. Miss that guy.

This was the 8th game in a row played that would result in a 8 game win streak

2017 season where all the rookies that were part of that historic draft class were all starting or playing big roles. Saints had purged all the bums off the roster that sabotaged 3 years of bad contracts, bad play, bad FAs, bad drafts resulting in Ireland coming in and starting to put new franchise players on the team
