Only defense for him I would have is maybe he did mean at this point in the season.
A team seemingly out of nowhere that has the potential to go the way and surprise everyone after years of barely being relevant. A team that could take the season by storm.
Even then pump the brakes. SEC football doesnt really start till November.

We aren't. This is the webs. Worst collection of our fan base usually.
NFL isn't college. You can live game to game. 9 should get us to the playoffs. We will be a week to week team. Should compete for playoffs because of division. I have not reality where our season extends past WC or Divisional round.
But also we are laying a foundation. And we are still rebuilding this thing.

Bad days at the office happen. One game doesnt define a season. Great QBs bounce back and learn from bad performances.
Shough had a couple Louisville games were he forced things, wasnt comfy in the pocket and things went off the rails. That and injuries is why he fell to the 2nd. Not blaming him specifically or solely for the loss. That was a team effort.
Good to great QBs learn, adapt, and improve. Even Drew had some bad games. That 07 season was bad.
Shough you just got punched in the mouth. How do you respond to that...a little over a year ago Stroud was a great up and coming QB. Shough you have flashed the potential but eventually you get a new wrinkle thrown at you.

And while today sucks cause man we had that one...and we let em off the hook. They were who we thought they were

Loomis flopped on the 1st round pick however Unger kept Drew's career going. Our OL was terrible and he helped stabilize it.
