@rundiley - he’s quoting Dumb and Dumber. It’s a movie universally regarded as one of the funnier ones made. It stars Jim Carrey. Check it out sometime.

They would never let Woodward re-hire him after that A&M buyout.

We don't know that Woodward will be hiring the next LSU coach.

Fire Woodward. Retain Saban to hire next AD and coach.

100%.

Ready for all the downvotes from the “BuT hE HIrED MuLKEy anD jOHNsoN!” crowd who still don’t understand that football is the sole revenue driver that keeps this athletic department in the black. Men’s baseball was profitable, but light years away from football. Trust me - you don’t want to know how much women’s basketball costs the university. If you love LSU, you should want Woodward gone. He is costing us millions upon millions with his idiotic football hires.

Like it or not, football pays for everyone.

I kind of like that idea.

Saban isn’t coaching again, BUT, how about

“hey Coach, come help out your old school that started your legacy”

His input and intuition is invaluable.

Not a bad idea if he would go for it, it would be worth a paycheck as well.

I might put $100.00 on Saban and offer him half if he takes the job.
That would be $3750.00 each. How could he turn that down?

IMO, Sumrall coming from Tulane is about the same as Saban coming from Michigan State at the time. No one really knew much about either, and both accomplished a great deal with limited resources. Kiffin is the established top choice, but I think it would be costly to acquire him. He'd be great, but I'd hate to see Sumrall at Florida.

Sumrall would be s great hire. He is also hungry enough to consider a heavily incentivize contract. Time to be realistic and creative with coaching contracts.

Bill Elko a very similar hire at A&M….came from Duke where he had good results with some resources. Now at A&M with unlimited resources and boom….there are the Aggies. Never hire a coach dragging his NC TROPHY WITH HIM……like Jimbo already fat and happy.

He's the token "College version of the NFL Rooney Rule" MINORITY candidate. Surprised they didn't list Kelvin Sheppard as well.

It is 100% a prototypical Woodward hire.

We've fallen off so much that we may poach a Tulane coach. Damn. Times are tough.

The coach doesn’t matter very much anymore. Good coordinators and players. Save your money for them

Boy times have changed. This would never have happened 20 even 10 years ago. Also LSU would have never thought any thing from Ole Miss was good enough for LSU.

I am fine with it. I think he will be a great job.

The next HC must not have a long term contract. Maximum 3 years which will be extended with performance. Just look at LSU, USC, FSU, PSU,.A&M..coaches who received 10 years contracts. You give them high salaries with extensions after they win a couple of national chanpionships.

Some on this list are absurd candidates. LSU needs to do due diligence to make the right hire this time. No margin for error.

Curious, where's this list from 2021? I'd like to see how all the "expected" turned out. I don't think Kelly's name was even on the list.

All bad. It was like Stoops, Franklin, Riley, Napier, and probably Rhule

Is Kiffin fixin to be the highest paid coach in college? Let's hope this madness ends with BK.

Know very little about Sumrall. However if he is the guy then I don’t GAF that he comes from Tulane. I’m ready for a younger, hungrier, aggresive HC.

I’ll take Sumrall and a box full of cash for NIL!
