Speaking of spoiled, you must be so young that you have no memory of the days when LSU had only one Heisman winner 60 years before. We've been fortunate enough to have two recently, but having an LSU player win the Heisman with any record is an enormous boon for the program.

Tell JD that we've got to allow Pickett to use 5 because Kelly regrettably promised him but commit to retiring both 5 and 9 and building the bronze statues as soon as Pickett leaves. We'll eventually have statues of him and Burrow and will retire their numbers anyway, and it would allow JD a way to back out of this while saving face.
We need to keep JD close if we can. Heisman winners are good for recruiting.

I was on the front row of the student section, and he caught that pass right in front of me. I went to all of the last three National Championships, and that is my greatest moment in LSU football.
