re: Do you travel, or have family travel to you for Christmas?
Posted by tigerinms on 12/22/25 at 6:18 am to whitetiger1234
We used to run around trying to see everyone with our two boys.
We would be wore out from traveling so as boys got older we stayed home for the most part.
Sure was a lot more relaxing and less stressful.

Think it was around 4th grade so about 9 or 10.
I really hated it because I know for me Christmas is never the same once you find out.
I would go all out and make sleigh marks in the dirt and we would leave reindeer food out. So I would have to make reindeer tracks all over yard.
Hope my kids keep that tradition up because I remember their amazement at seeing that every year.

10% bonus most years. Also nice they are smart and take 25% taxes out so it doesn’t bite you come tax time.
Also usually get trophy deer hunt with it scoring over 200.

re: What’s the most pain you ever felt?
Posted by tigerinms on 12/18/25 at 6:35 pm to LSUTANGERINE
Had abcessed tooth that I got antibiotics for
Was on humira and next morning infection had moved to other tooth, jaw and neck
Sister who works for oral surgeon panicked and rushed me in to slit gum from front to back and put drain in neck.
The pain going to surgeon was worse than when I fell out of deerstand 25’ in air and shattered leg.

Wonder if he would be willing to bet on himself by taking an incentive package.
Pay him so much for every game started then bonuses for meeting certain criteria.

I vote for some 4-wheelers but not sure how much you want to spend..
Some of the cheap ones will run awhile and main issue is carb issues which are easy to fix.?
Rescue dog would be great with them all being old enough to understand how to handle the dog.
Dog would also teach them some responsibility.

expecting first grandchild 12/1. so health for mom and baby is all i want.
need to find who did this to this innocent little thing and superglue jewels to their jewels!!!
just rescued the most precious loving schnoodle couple months ago that was abused by an elderly lady who had dementia. her granddaughter surrendered him.
he has just gotten to where he doesn't cower down and pee when he reach for him.
he is finally coming around and is going for the record for number of belly rubs one dog can get.
it is so special and touching to see abused animal learn to trust again.

So sorry for your loss.
I totally get the pain you are feeling.
Lost our 16 year old chihuahua about 8 months ago.
had to put him to sleep after he had a stroke.
both my grown boys drove 1-1/2 hours to say their goodbyes and we all cried, me especially.
Have lost pets before but this one hurt worse that any of the others.
Guess him being with us so long and being a part of my boys life growing up.
But you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

as a recovering addict/alcoholic (same thing) i saw after becoming sober what damage i did to the family.
now wish i had decided to get help alot sooner. but everyone does it on their own time and everyones bottom is different.
i will be praying for her to realize she needs help and be willing to make the change.
as everyone else has mentioned its has to be on her to accept help and work on staying sober.
will also be praying for your family during this time and hope ya'll read up on recovery for family because that is needed as much as anything.
sounds like she is blessed to have a family that really cares for her and wants to help in her recovery, alot of addicts dont have that blessing.

22’s from factory I would keep them. sure sidewall isn’t that short looking at 22’s on the same trucks in our parking lot. Boss man has a 1500 with 22’s and the all terrain tires he just put on it look great. I have 20’s on my truck because dealer giving discount didn’t have any trucks like I wanted with 22’s.
did the 22's come as the factory wheels? if so stay with them otherwise 20's will give you alot better ride. also less chance of cracking the rim from potholes.

correct!!!! creating a thread to me seemed alot easier.
thanks to the ones that were helpful as you can see with yalls help i figured it out.
also sorry if my punctuation bothers people, i didnt pay attention in english and composition class.
i always look at the message not the sentence structuring of someones thread and topic.
That's about 20 posts per year for 15 years. May want to slow down a bit and pace yourself before your posting gets out of hand.
lurked and kept up with LSU news and recruiting for the longest.
i reply to the post i can relate to or give some kind of advice is about it.
the ones about losing love ones (or pets) always hit home since i lost my youngest brother to a car accident when he was 19 so i can relate to anyone who loses a sibling.

sorry for my ignorance but i did a search to see if i could find answer in a previous post but nothing came up so at least i tried to find answer before bothering the crew.
my question is how to reply to a post that is inside a topic.
ex:
the dog shite question someone mentioned about their dog getting into candy and i wanted to reply to that and didnt know how.
thanks for your help.
i dont post very often but this is where i get all my news and info from. this board has helped me many times by giving me a place to vent or grieve. great to know others have been through same thing and made it out.
Geaux Tigers!!!

Our dog also got into the Christmas candy one time and had glittered foil in poop for some time.
The Howard Johnson sniper. Walked into house and my mom was glued to tv just tripping out.
re: Ever had a family member in a nursing home?
Posted by tigerinms on 11/4/25 at 8:31 am to NatalbanyTigerFan
my MIL went to one after family could no longer take care of her. as far as her case it was the best thing we could of ever done for her. when she was home living with her son all she did was lay around, eat junk food and not take her meds as she was supposed to. she flourished at the nursing home and she seemed happier than she had in forever.
she got the care she needed
three healthy meals a day
she got right meds in right doses
did excercise and physical therapy
many activities to keep her busy
had alot of contact with alot of people every day

Would have to be Wiley coyote because no matter how hard I try and plan shite never works out, I feel his pain.
re: What is one thing that helped you find soberity?
Posted by tigerinms on 10/8/25 at 6:23 am to LSU Coyote
For me it was getting a sponsor through AA/NA. Was great talking to someone that had been through exactly what I was going through and had made it to the other side. I have spoken at meetings and always tell people that is what lets you know what you are thinking and going through body wise is a normal part of recovery. Found someone I could call any hour and had multiple years of sobriety.
