actually had a truck driver come into my work the other day and after talking to him found out he was Bubba Blackwell the stuntman who broke all of Knievels's jumping records.
was a very interesting discussion and he is just a good ole country boy from Alabama.
was telling me about all the bones he broke and he still gets around better than me.

Absolutely. Him trying to jump the fountain at Caesar’s Palace was epic.

It was a big deal when he was on The Wild World of Sports making a jump.

Saw him perform in person at the Tulsa International Raceway in 1974.

I was not quite 14. It was hot, and we sat there for hours waiting to watch him do his thing. And then all of a sudden, it was over.

My first experience seeing drag racing in person. I actually walked down to the starting line and stood there for a while. Those things are damn loud.

I might have even made an appearance in this video. Hard for me to tell for sure.

I likely saw all of his jumps that were televised since I was a teenager when he started his daredevil career.

He failed spectacularly at times and paid the price with more breaks, fractures, tears etc. than most men would want to endure and then climb back on the bikes to try again.
