Plays at West Marion. Was leading the nation in Ks at one point. Mid 90s righty that all the instate schools wanted as well.

12 wins, 166Ks, 0.43 ERA on 65 2/3 innings his SR year so far. Up to 6’4 230 according to another article on him.

Being reported by the local newspaper via Facebook. Jay went in home with him last night.

This is a good pick up. Late riser, was previously committed to Pearl River I think.

Similar story to Garret Crochet.

ETA: He's a 2026, so he will be on campus next year. Will be a bit of draft sweat.

Ya think?!?

Seriously though, ballpark range of where he’s being projected to go in the draft?

can he throw strikes without hitting or walking multiple guys per outing? We have a bunch of strikeouts on our staff now. just offset it with walks and hit batters and passed balls

If he doesn't hit people. Walk 80% of his batters.

I'M SOLD

It's worth making that clear for a guy committing this late that was previously committed to to JUCO.

No idea on where he may go, but pro scouts have been out to see him an according to an insider on a different board the numbers thrown around by scouts is in the $500k-$1MM range.

This is the deepest HS pitching class in while. And the college hitters (generally considered the "safe" category), isn't panning out to push guys down the boards. We're going to lose some guys to the draft, because the money will be there for them, we just need to make sure we can hold onto a few of them.

Oddly, Jake Brown getting hurt makes it slightly more difficult to get a HS pitcher to campus. (that's extrapolating a lot, but it's part of the equation)

197 outs in his 65.2/3 innings gs pitched.

166 of those outs by strikeout? Amazing stat if accurate only 31 balls put in play.

I think you are forgetting to add any hits to this total. It would be 31 balls put in play which resulted in outs plus any hits equals total balls put in play by the opponents' hitters.

Good point still a ridiculous stat.

That's the first thought I had, as well.
