Chevy 0% Interest

I see GM is offering 0% interest for 5 years on a brand new 1500 model. I really like the 3.0 Duramax engine, wouldn’t get one without it. I know the 6.2l and 4 banger engines are Jonk, and the 5.3 lacks power. Anyone know if this offer applies for the Duramax engine? And/or had a good/bad experience with this model truck (2025/2026).

I mean you can go search just as well as anyone else.

Understand that, which I did. I didn’t see where it applied.

They are trying to clear out current inventory before the new 2027 Silverado arrives.

Just remember that 0% is great but there’s no such thing as 0%. It’s subsidized by the purchase price.

Thanks, that’s really good financial advice.

You like an oil pump being driven by a belt?

While they are all jacked up. In Nov I got 25 ford. Build date was August. 0 apr and it was 9k off sticker.

That is really the only thing I have heard bad about that engine but I don't know anyone who's actually had an issue with it or it failing.

For a set-no haggle price this may be true.

My experience: in August 2001, I ordered a Chevy 2500 crew cab with the Duramax.
Then Sept 11 happened.
GM came back with 0% financing to stimulate the economy.
When my truck got delivered in October, I totally took advantage of that, put some cash down, and got my note down to like 540 per month at 0% for 3 years.
But this was before truck prices got stupid high. Sale price of my truck back then was about 36k before TTL.

Just be aware of TSB 25-NA-307
Also be aware if you have a short daily commute you are going to have to drive it for some longer trips occasionally to allow the DPF to run a full cycle.

They do a lot of things to muddy the waters to make it look different but when you’re borrowing money SOFR reigns supreme. There’s no such thing as free money. It gets complicate when you start to dig into oem rebates, finance origination fees and actual cost of capital but in general if you get an offer below market rates, you’re subsidizing it. Returns are pegged to an ROE and they make that up from the sale price. There’s some edge cases with fixed returns not pinned to SOFR but those are so rare they aren’t worth talking about.
Now effective rate to the consumer, meaning is offered vs what is actually available is an even more complicated story because you don’t know their inventory posture or inbound inventory.
Buying a car is stupidly complicated.

I haven't had any Chevy interest since I bought that POS Diesel Chevy 1 ton back in 93.

I’m about 3,000 miles into my 2026 trailboss with the 3.0 diesel. So far I absolutely love this truck. It’s the first Chevy pick up I’ve ever owned. All fords before, may never go back.

0% interest rate at this time of highest interest rates since Covid times means the vehicle price is very high.
Chevy is not financing at negative margin (they borrow above 0% and would not charge 0%).
Might want to shop around for better pricing?

It’s 353hp. It’s not a Raptor but it’s hardly weak.
My first truck was a 1989 Silverado with 170hp.
