I want Argentina gone so bad, but that was embarrassing for Embolo. He deserved to be sent off. Maybe the Swiss can find a lucky one or park the bus till pens.

I mean if you think he dove bc he’s trying to help Argentina, I guess. But he dove, Argentina guy shouldn’t have gotten the yellow. Only thing to do in that situation is reverse the yellow to the diving player.
Do I think Argentina benefits a lot? Yes. Is this one 100% not rigged? Yes.

The diving has got to be addressed, but I don’t think a 2nd yellow and forcing the Swiss to 10 men in the Semi-final is the right way to go about it.

If you want to take flopping out of the game, and I think we do, you have to make the call in big game scenarios.

The only reason VAR could intervene there is because Paredes was cautioned. If it would have been just a foul, Embolo is still on the field.

No, it wasn't. I'm no Argentina fan and I fully believe they have gotten special treatment this cup, but that was clear and egregious simulation. A dive. In an attempt to get a call. He can whine and cry all he wants, that's a 2nd yellow. Don't dive there and you don't end up in that situation.
I agree that the ref should be able to just overturn the yellow for one player instead of reassigning it to another, but that clear dive and simulation of getting hurt deserved a yellow.
