Last time I was in Rome was about 20 years ago, so I won't be helpful with specifics, but I remember thinking to myself that I could spend a week there just walking the city taking in all of the history outside of the major tourist attractions. There's SO MUCH there to see from centuries and centuries of history. Enjoy it, it really is an amazing place to experience first-hand.
While he's so young, it's always worth it even if for just the experience factor. If for whatever reason it's not for him because of working in the elements, heights, any potential travel etc, but he enjoys and understands the technical side of it, the experience will almost surely get him into an electrician apprenticeship or other trade related positions. If a worthwhile college degree isn't in the cards for my kids, that's the route I would suggest for them.

Worst case scenario is he finds something he doesn't want to do early in his working life. Best case, he finds a career he loves with decades ahead of him.

Past couple days have been bad, but at least it's nowhere near how bad it was a few years ago. Felt like this every day for like 3 months straight
26/27 Natty season loading up now. We will miss you Skip
I havent been able to keep up with the details, but is this whole situation coming from JD himself, or is it his mother/reps pushing this crap?

Catching a cop requires a pattern of abuse to discover their actions. How many people and how many times did the officer violate a person's rights before that pattern emerged?

This is exactly my issue with flock cameras. I understand how useful and vital they could be in certain situations like amber alerts, but the potential for abuse is just too damn high. Just like FISA
I can see the writing on the wall when it comes to AI and my current position. This is a topic thats been on my mind for the past few months. I'm in finance at a fortune 100, been here around 18 months so still in a lower position, and with how quickly AI is advancing, as well as the amount of money the company is investing in AI, I can see my current role being obsolete within a year or two.

I could either work my arse off in hopes of advancing higher in the company to a position that is more "AI proof" and risk being in a bind if I'm wrong about the amount of time I have, or I could make a career switch now. It's a tough one.

Those who worked in liquor stores or as bartenders, did you know who the alcoholics were?

Yes, from a former bartender. Same faces every day, mostly came in alone or about an hour before their friends/spouse joined to make it seem like they were drinking a "normal" amount, and rarely if ever deviated from their drink of choice and the number that they had.

The worst physical telltale sign I've seen was one guy had the shakes so bad you'd think he had Parkinsons. He had four quadruple crown and cokes a day, every day, for years. By the time he got his 3rd drink, the shakes went away.

Why move to one of the most conservative areas in the country if you hate the values and people already here?

Liberals and Muslims have this in common.

Liberals lack the ability to understand that their extreme political beliefs and policies are the virus that destroys things around them.

At least the Muslims recognize and are aware that the fundamental destruction of the US is their goal.
Every single person in this country that believes in the separation of the church and the state should be vehemently opposed to Islam.
I know I'm excited to see how Commdani officially remembers the day. I wouldn't be shocked if he held a special tribute for the hijackers.

Whatever he does, I really want it to piss off the Italians even more than he already has in the past few weeks.
It's going to be a tough ask of Messi to jump back in front of Mbappe after yesterday. He definitely has a chance to tie or get the all time goal record back though.

However, if Messi can pull off a hat trick in the world cup final at 39 years old against the best defense in the world and win a 2nd cup in a row, he will have my vote as the GOAT of all GOATs of any sport in history. I'm talking in his own category over the likes of CR7, Pele, Maradona, Jordan, Brady, Gretzky, Ruth, Aaron, Ali, Phelps, etc.

You'd have your Mount Rushmore GOAT athletes, and then there would be a standalone Mount Messi.

Going down after contact and "embellishing" the contact to get a call is one thing. We see it every single game in the NBA and NFL. Acting like they just took a bullet from the grassy knoll is another.

Keep booking for simulation and if a player is writhing around on the ground for a set amount of time, say 10-20 seconds, consider them to be actually hurt and the trainers are required to come treat them and get them off the field. Once off the field, they are out for 3 minutes from the second they are outside of the lines. Put a timer on their return just like the NHL has on their power plays. There's not much that would realistically prevent this from happening unless the consequences are much more extreme than they are now. I don't want the use of VAR in-game to get out of control, so if a scenario that isn't reviewable happens and it is clearly shown that a player was not touched and still tried to simulate contact and injury, fine the frick out of them after the fact. I'm talking a big fine like half of their weekly pay. For some players that would be $150k and up.

I hope that what happened last night would be a huge wakeup call to players that want to play like that. Keep on with the fake pain, but don't cry when you get caught. Even if he was "bracing for contact" like Landon said during the game, you don't roll around on the field acting like your shin was snapped in half when you weren't touched. That is the part that was deserving of a 2nd yellow.
I want to see some sad Argentinians when they lose the final after getting skullfricked by France.
Wow. What a strike. Can't be mad at that one.

It's definitely harsh,

No, it wasn't. I'm no Argentina fan and I fully believe they have gotten special treatment this cup, but that was clear and egregious simulation. A dive. In an attempt to get a call. He can whine and cry all he wants, that's a 2nd yellow. Don't dive there and you don't end up in that situation.

I agree that the ref should be able to just overturn the yellow for one player instead of reassigning it to another, but that clear dive and simulation of getting hurt deserved a yellow.

The physical distances between teams and travel also play a role in how a promotion/relegation system would work here. The entire UK is roughly the size of Michigan. The largest country in Western Europe, France, is a little smaller than Texas. To make any true promotion/relegation system more feasible, we would probably have to regionalize lower tiers and keep the top league as the nationwide league.

Correct
If we had a fair and honest media that wouldn't spew propaganda or provide cover for politicians on either side, but rather expose their corruption, we would be in a much better position.
