All these years people talked about FIFA being corrupt proved true. They just wanted the US to get a little taste of knockout rounds

ESPN is reporting that the VAR team went outside protocol, using slow motion and stills, to recommend a review. They’re supposed to review it at game speed.

That could be interesting.

People trying to reason with FIFA decisions.

Seeing how we got the result wouldn’t be surprised if incoming.

Serious foul play or violent conduct can result in a three-match ban if the disciplinary committee decides he recklessly endangered an opponent's safety

Who’s the VAR ref? That’s the guy who should be hung from a tree for this

I’m sure that policy is nothing the threat of a Treasury Department inspection couldn’t change.

Trump should just bomb the FIFA offices, while no one is in them of course.

They need to appeal the fact that the card was given on the recommendation of a review that broke the VAR protocol.

Essentially, that there never should have even been a review.

frick FIFA. We will keep this train going regardless of their bullshite. What I'd like to see is the American sports media to have a backbone along with some national pride and BLAST the image or video of Messi doing the same exact thing, but not receiving any kind of card. Show them that we see the hypocrisy clearly. Ohh, and ban the FIFA president from attending any more US games as long as we are still alive in the tourney.

Just so everyone wants a little context, the VAR ref is Venezuelan. This honestly could have been a little more political than what we originally thought to just be incompetent

Also VAR ref didn’t use it correctly. We should absolutely be raising hell over this.

Well the US had a good run and had its best chance ever. But it just wasn’t in the cards for us. Sure we’ll rebound at next year’s world cup.

Our federation is so cucked if they don’t challenge this and raise hell.

If this happened to Mexico they would be screaming shite in Spanish and probably have cartels kidnap fifa members and all the refs

No mechanism I'm taking as no official process. We can certainly unofficially raise hell though and see what happens. We should have a team doing nothing but this for the next 72 hours

It shouldn’t need a process since it was awarded via incorrect use of VAR so that should wipe it.

Our federation is weak though so we will just take it.

The latest I saw is that US soccer doesn't plan to appeal unless they extend the suspension.
