Have we any posters sincerely considering attending the Qatar World Cup?

I'd give ample consideration if there were no medical passes required, but suspect that type of decision would be too far out to be able to make any realistic plans.

Any one here giving honest / serious consideration to attending? I'd love to visit that part of the globe at some point and it seems like a United States World Cup match would be an ideal way to facilitate it.

The issue seems to be a complete lack of hotel rooms. I'd consider it if I could get decent accomodations.

Last I saw they are trying to figure out how to dock cruise ships off the coast for extra rooms.

It's amazing how that could even be a problem for a host nation of a modern World Cup

Not drinking out and about for a World Cup is going to be incredibly difficult, and don't really want to be incarcerated for doing so.

It is a mess. You purchase tickets to a random match on the day of your choosing. You then have to validate your tickets to access the FIFA reserved hotels, apartments, houses and yes cruise ships.

Only approximately 90,000 rooms will be made available to the public via a website. That is "around the same number of fans" from the U.S. who had tickets for the '18 World Cup in Russia, when hotels were available on the open market.

Unsurprisingly, it looks like a mess to try to make the trip

Seems like we'll just celebrate en masse with typical soccer lads in our various pop up "World Cup Villages" across the US then.

I might do something unique and try to travel to the best soccer bar in Seattle, Portland, and Denver or something just to experience it in a memorable way.

Realistically, I may schedule a work trip to England over Thanksgiving... That might be the best option this year.

Aren't they relaxing the vice laws for this event? I could swear I read that somewhere.

I agree. Might as well just wait until 2026 when it’s here. If it were in Europe or South America I’d consider going.

I have no desire to give any of my money to Qatar, so unless I’m part of the team entourage that’s gonna be a no from me, dawg.

I was planning on trying to go but reading this thread has made me pass. I’ll go to some supporters bars and enjoy it there.
