I’m sure you were upset at Russia as well, when Putin launched massive missile attacks all across Ukraine a few days ago, derailing the chances of a ceasefire, when it seemed like one could happen. Especially since all you really want is peace and for all the senseless killing to stop. You’re not Pro-Russian or anything like that.

This.

It's just fricking WEIRD how they can't see it.

Putin, a well-known murder, invades a neighboring country and just starts shelling cities, killing civilians and taking territory. Zelensky is desperately trying to defend his country. Putin has not shown any desire to end the conflict, shelling the capital while the head of state is out of the country trying to negotiate peace - but somehow it's all Zelensky's fault, it's Zelensky who doesn't want peace.

It takes a special sort of mentality to get that so backwards.

Ukraine parliament says no elections during wartime under martial law

Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada passed a resolution Tuesday affirming that national elections cannot take place while the country remains under martial law, directly countering remarks by US President Donald Trump questioning the legitimacy of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s administration. Additionally, the resolution formally extends Zelenskyy’s mandate until martial law is lifted.

The resolution, which reiterates Zelenskyy’s continued authority as Ukraine’s head of state, serves as a direct response to a statement from Trump, who has suggested that the absence of elections undermines his legitimacy. 286 deputies voted in favor of the resolution, with no abstentions or votes against it. The measure was approved after an initial vote failed to gain sufficient support on Monday.

On Sunday, Zelenskyy stated that he would step down if it would secure peace for Ukraine, adding that he would also resign if it guaranteed the country’s NATO membership. However, the Ukrainian parliament emphasized on Tuesday that Zelenskyy was elected in a legitimate vote and remains the country’s lawful president. The body further confirmed that national elections will not be held until martial law is lifted following the establishment of a “comprehensive, fair, and sustainable peace.”

Ukraine’s constitution prohibits the holding of elections during martial law, which was extended in July 2023, one year after Russia’s full-scale invasion. The resolution underlines that neither the Ukrainian people nor the Verkhovna Rada question Zelenskyy’s legitimacy and states that, under the country’s constitution, he must remain in office until a new president is elected.

It’s a war, Eric. Both sides are sick.

Kind of like Putin shelling Kiev while Zelensky is agreeing to a ceasefire.

Or the fact that US, Europe, and Ukraine are all looking to end the war and Putin isn't even at the table.

It's a freaking war, not a political campaign.

This was obvious from the beginning. Ukraine never had any hopr of actually winning this war.
Regardless of right and wrong, who invaded whom, none of it matters at this point.
Europe isn't going to do a damn thing, Ukraine has no soldiers left, and Russia isn't going to give up any land it's controlling.
All Zylenski has done continuing to fight is lose more land and people.

The fastest way to end this would be for the US to walk away. That's reality.

He’ll be flying back to Ukraine later this week. If I was Russia I would shoot him down with the SU-57

The loophole here is that shithead is keeping the country at war because, the second it is over, he gets tossed in elections.

By "shithead", do you mean Putin?

I agree, someone needs to take his arse out. That would end this war - and keep Putin from starting more wars. Isn't that what we want?

If Putin wanted Zelensky dead...he would be dead. Unless he is worried about repercussions, there is no reason he shouldn't have eliminated Z and end the war.
Ultimately, Zelensky will end up killed by his own people.

Russia could stop the war today.

Also I thought we all generally agreed that self-defense was a fundamental right of individuals and nations?
