Yeah pretty close to it anyway but I'm reasonably sure there are a fair amount that are under the cartel's thumb out of fear and not greed.

If we are going to interfere in a foreign country, Mexico is the country to do it in. Their cartel problems are our problems. Trump would wipe them out faster than he did ISIS.

Call me a pessimist but this seems like it would be an even bigger boondoggle than Iraq and Afghanistan.
A. The cartel is better armed, organized, and numerous than the Taliban
B. They would use the same tactics of hit-and-runs then blending into the civilians, who likely won’t be anxious to help us as they don’t want to see their entire family decapitated. Hell, half of Mexicans see the cartels as a sort of Robin Hood’s band of thieves.
C. They know the land just as well as the Taliban know Afghanistan and they’re much better tunnel diggers.
D. Instead of retreating to Pakistan they would just go to South America
E. You would see a scenario where they launch retaliatory terror attacks on American citizens in border towns, trying to make us lose stomach for the fight.
I think this has to be a fight that the Mexican people take on themselves. We shouldn’t get involved other than to secure our border.

No. As good as it sounds there is one more quagmire. We should, at most, make a deal with the Mexicans to research then conduct raids from Texas and kill 100 or so @ a time and get back home before the dust settles to strike fear in their souls. Keep them scattered and kill 10 for every 1 Mexican government or police life they take. That should keep them low profile.

It's hard to outgun a drone that you can't see. No reason to put too many of our young men in harms way, let them ID the targets, and then let the drones do the bulk of the work.

Agreed. Treat them like any other nuisance: Set a bag limit that will control their numbers at a manageable level. When the population gets too high and unmanageable? Raise the bag limit

We could hurt them..badly. We don't need to invade, just put troops on the border and seal it off. We cut off their source of income, they can't operate because we are there in huge numbers and they can't bring their shite in at all.
