Actually I do own a truck. 2017 GMC Canyon 4 cylinder gets about 27 MPG on the HWY. Plus it is safe since it has great visbiity both fore and aft. And a 2007 Chevy Tahoe that GM gifted me in appreciation for contributions to the national Dealer council which I headed up. I'm 75 and deeply appreciate your thinking I am maybe 25 since I suppose that's the age bracket who would own something it sounds like you dream about due to your vivid description.

He has spent over $30K putting in a new Duramax, new suspension (yeah it has a modest lift), new leather inside, paint, mirrors, lights, tires, gauges and front end. There is, OTOH, social discrimination. Which is one of the most universally and oldest forms of survival know to the animal, insect and bird populations of the world which includes humans. I was "victimized" by social discrimination for some of my multiple centuries on this earth. Dirt poor and even less endowed by personality and skinny as a rail I couldn't get licked by a bloodhound with a porkchop hung around my neck as a kid. I grew up, got well to do, drove a 9-11 drop top and it was was my time to socially discriminate. Birds of a feather, red ant hills, people with means gather away from those without to keep it and stay alive. Catholics, black folks, white folks, Jews. Money marries money and nobody, white Asian, black or Hispanic, with any is looking to build a new home in the ghetto. That is the story and bottom line. Not some vague "social justice".

We're throwing trillions around and in need of a massive overhaul of infrastructure so form a national work force like the military and provide retirement etc. A real career job with retirement is a tremendous cure for most all Social Discrimination.
