If it changes, it will be out of emotion and not logic and thus I should be ignored.

Would you pontificate for the abolishment of alcohol if one of your loved ones was killed by a drunk driver?

Better yet, banning the tool used by the person to commit the act....the vehicle itself. Or how about banning non-utilitarian "sportscars" intended for stretching those deadly speed legs.

No change.
I have read history for decades. Thousands will die every year without gun control. Millions will die with gun control.

I would be highly pissed at the POS that killed my kid but as far as changing gun laws, frick no.

If a drunk driver killed my family I wouldn't ask for alcohol to be banned.

Anybody that says we need more gun control and more regulations is a fricking liberal communist and I despise that that trash.

There is a difference between gun control and 0 gun rights

Did millions die from 1994 to 2004 here?

frick this thread. I would not blame the guns. I'd blame the people. I don't care if everyone I know and their entire extended families 3 times removed got killed in a gun massacre. My 2nd amendment report will never waver.

Could you really not see your stance changing on some form of gun control after such an event?

I doubt it

Discuss

So, you’re banking on the fact that upon suffering the loss of a loved one, I’m going to want guns taken away from thousands of people who didn’t kill my loved one? Obviously, I could never know unless I was really in that situation, but no, I don’t think I would change my position.

My sister was maimed by a drunk driver when she was 2 weeks old. Do I want alcohol outlawed? No. Do I want cars outlawed? No. Do I think the legal limit to drive should be .02? No. Do I drink and drive? No, but I did when I was young and stupid.

Wtf does gun control mean!?
Wtf does common sense gun laws mean?

You can’t just throw out vague terms like that. We have gun control now, we have more gun control than ever

Using vague terms like that is a way for politicians to say things that sound nice without relating to the general public how it will effect them directly. Because they know once a person sees how a law effects them directly, they are hell of a lot less likely to support it

If someone shot and killed my wife or one of my kids, i would blame the weapon used just as much if it was a screwdriver, automobile, brick, or paperclip...all would be zero, the perpetrator on the other hand hold 100% of the blame... and would deserve all of the harm that would befall him at my hand.

How many people have given up their lives protecting the 2nd amendment? It’s definitely worth defending with our lives.

None.

Enforce the laws you have now.

Whether I know them or not, the death of an individual or multiple individuals does not outweigh the rights of over 300 million people.

Then again, I'm also about not making decisions based on emotion. Especially days after a traumatic event.

My rights don't end where your feelings start. My guns haven't killed anyone and I have no intention of ever surrendering them.

Do you think this is some sort of gotcha?

People directly affected by crimes tend to want harsher reactions than those not directly affected. This ain't exactly earth-shattering news

Besides no one can actually be honest about how they would react to an enormous upheaval in their lives like this. In either direction
