If it happened to my family it would be a horrible terrible worst day of my life.
It wouldn't mean I would advocate taking away rights Americans were born with.
Our Constitution plainly forbids our government from infringing on Americans rights of free speech and our right to keep and bear arms.

Too many what if’s and unknowns. I for sure would be both angry and distraught. Mixed emotions flying.

But certain situations a shot gun would do more damage then an “assault rifle”

The Virginia tech gunman used pistols

Logically you can’t draw a line. And all guns will never be taken away as there are too many in circulation. If ever outlawed the criminals by definition will still have the guns

I believe in the Schrödinger's Gun theory. With guns legal I both have a gun in my house and don’t have a gun in my house. A potential criminal has to assume he may face me armed. At the same time I don’t have one and there is no reason to break into my house to steal my gun

If he know I don’t have one then size, element of surprise, knife beats me every time

Gun has potential to even the playing field.

Interesting that you insist I am the one who sacrificed a love one.

Thousands (millions) have died for the Constitution and this country. It’s what makes us great. A loved one being shot doesn’t change that. I truly believe the 2nd Amendment is crucial to our freedom.

Freedom don’t come free, and my family understands sacrifice for that freedom. Try and take our guns away, everyone will understand that, as well...

Won’t need a gun. Just release him and get out the way.

She should have been allowed to be armed and defend herself.

As an avid gun owner I don’t think it is the “gun” that is the issue. It is simply a tool and these mass shootings are systematic of the moral decay within our families. Of 27 mass shootings 26 shooters did not have a relationship with a father.

26

That is rather telling but I doubt anyone will look at this in the MSM because it doesn’t fit the narrative.

I’m not going to give up my rights or ask others to give up theirs because of one emotional, tragic event.

They'd probably already be dead so that option is likely off the table for you

Do you not base your belief system on your core values and principles?

You vote a certain way or , perhaps, have certain viewpoints that change if and only if some set of circumstances happens to you personally?

Damn, man...that shows a severe lack of deep thinking on your part.
How bout before you take any position , imagine it’s you on the receiving end.

Hell you should have been doing that...that’s how you decide what you stand for in the first place.

Integrity.

ETA- the loss of a loved one via a shooting does not change my mind on every American’s constitutional right to defend themselves against a tyrannical government.
Which listening to the Democratic Party , that possibility is creeping ever closer.
