These gotchas are so fricking dumb. Do you honestly think the El Paso shooter wouldn't have killed a group of people just because he didn't have a gun? He could have driven his car right through a crosswalk full of kids at 80mph, but we wouldn't be talking about car regulations.

My guns have never been involved in a mass shooting and I'm not responsible for anyone else's actions.

I’ll think about what a tyrannical government will do to my remaining family.

Easy. My stance would change and I would want change. Interesting that with all of the downvotes its apparent that some of y’all would sacrifice a loved one for the 2nd amendment.

We have to decide if we want as much freedom as civilized society will allow or whether we want to placate fear mongers for political gain. If someone kills any members of my family I’m gonna be grief stricken, angry, demanding justice but hopefully not caving in to the calls for gun control/confiscation, that only assists the leftists who desperately want to limit your freedoms with a tyrannical government.

If I knew my child would be killed in a car crash.

I would outlaw cars.

This does not mean cars should be illegal.

Nope. Gun control is the first step to 0 gun rights. Gun control-gun registration-gun confiscation-0 gun rights. You can spin it any way you want but that is the process.

Exactly! My stance on the second wouldn't change and I would probably wish that my family member had a CC to potentially stop this event.

For the OP - If a family member of your was raped, would you cut your own dick off?

Your house is broken into, it takes them a while to get to your room but when they do the two thugs beat you senseless and rape your wife. If you’d had a gun maybe you stop them. Discuss your gun control stance afterwards. Let’s see if you are honest.

If you are talking about preventable death, this question should be posed to the father of Kate Steinle.

I would blame shooter’s parents and pharmaceutical companies that shove these psychoactive drugs down the throats of these fricked up people. The common connection is always drugs and mental illness. Also blame congress for not addressing the root causes. It’s not background checks or “assault” weapons.

I am sure I would blame the shooter and not the weapon.

No different than losing someone by a drunk driver.

Can't blame big pharma. Who would fund their campaigns?

Interesting that you are so soft that you act on emotion instead of logic and common sense .

I would be pissed and heartbroken.

But I would be glad there's a 2nd Amendment so I can gun down the fricker that did it.

How do you blame a gun?? Seriously it’s a tool for a mad man. The gun doesn’t up and just start shooting someone.

I would blame the person I have guns in my house and they haven’t just upped and starting shooting me or my family.
