It’s a Party for Gen X dorks to pretend they’re above voting for a Democrat or a Republican.

Trump is the most libertarian candidate that Party could ever hope to elect as POTUS. He's definitely more libertarian than JoJo.

I’m half convinced that the party is a honeypot to keep the opposition controlled. I can’t think
Of any other reason why the LP would squander so many prime opportunities

Their ideology sounds great but they’ve got too many loons in the party.

Libertarians best bet is to focus on one of the parties. Read up on the Locofocos, America's first Libertarian group who very influential in Democrat politics.

You remind me of this Boomer Trump supporter I work with who's convinced that drug legalization will cause crime, etc. to get worse.

No it’s a wonderful philosophy, but totally impractical. As long as the focus only on the presidency they cannot achieve anything other than being the weed party.

It would of been a lot more serious if Justin Amash would of ran (the only Libertarian member in the House of Representatives) but he declined to run since of covid challenges.

Jorgensen is a weak candidate and in my opinion we are better off with Trump.

(Coming from a previous 2 time Libertarian voter).

As a Libertarian, we have a better shot of the Democrats creating a dominant party leading to another short time frame of a one party system and then splintering to create another two party system than Libertarians ever becoming viable nationally.

No. They are too small-government for the Left, they support too many Left-leaning stances for the Right and on some issues (immigration, for instance - see: Block's open immigration argument vs Rothbard's restricted immigration argument) they are all over the board.

Libertarianism has some great positives but some of the stances are as Amway a philosophy as Socialism.
