Few people realize that far far more slaves were shipped to the Caribbean than the US. Heck the total to the US was less than 400K and Jamaica alone had over a million shipped there. At the same time disease destroyed the local population.
There remained remnants of Carib indians in the lower part of the Caribbean, St. Vincent, Dominica, and the mountains of Trinidad. My wife's grandmother is 100% Carib and you see it in my wife's high cheekbones and piercing beautiful eyes (if I say so myself). Course she also has that Carib temperament but thats a subject for another day.
The one exception to the Caribbean is Trinidad where they brought over vast numbers of East Indians as indentured servants, so the population is almost evenly split between them and blacks.

There is a VERY small group of individual families that control the wealth and bring in expats to run the various businesses for them, and all the ones I know "hole up" for two weeks working and then back to Miami to bathe for a week, rest for a week and go back and do it all over again.

It's mind boggling why blacks have such difficulty not just governing each other but getting along with each other.
Who kills the most blacks? Other blacks.
What countries with majority black populations are the worst? Those ran by other blacks.
Cities? Same answer.
To talk about it makes you racist because you have to talk about cold hard facts the left doesn't want to hear because it doesn't fit their narrative. I'm not smart enough to figure out the answer.
Is it education? Maybe but lack of education doesn't make you violent against your own people.
Is it money? We can't say that either because of the tens of billions that got sent there after the quake and gov't leaders stole it all.

Any human that can speak two languages has enough intelligence to be successful at something
Haitians are largely bi lingual. They actually speak English and creole. One of the few places on the planet besides Louisiana.

No it doesn’t. It means they learned to talk using more than one language. Children do it often worldwide.
They speak French along with Haitian Creole btw, not English.

Charles Murray wrote a whole book on this very subject and made many of the same observations. He was pilloried by the ivory towered "acadummies" but since the publication of the Bell Curve, almost all of his observations have been vindicated.
But much of Haiti's problems have to do with the nature of the slave rebellion that led to the modern day formation. Interesting fact: The only other successful colonial uprising was the American Revolution. One is (or at least was) successful, the other an unmitigated disaster.

Haiti is only about 30 years younger than the United States as a free country. Their revolution ended in 1804.
Nothing that happened that long ago is affecting them today.

I think you missed my point, or more likely I failed to convey it properly. When the slave revolt ended they rebuffed any outside European help, ruthlessly murdered the remaining French, and have ever since been unable to manage their affairs.

Every Haitian I've met are hardworking, nice, take academics serious, etc. and they would hardly what I would call "biracial."

yes the IQs would be lower compared to other nations... but I don't think that entirely explains haiti's plight. the thing with IQ is that it should be normally distributed amongst a population. basically this means that not everyone is dumb there...there would be dumb people, those with average intelligence, and some smart people. every population has it, even haiti. in addition to lack of literacy/education, corruption, incompetent leadership, natural disasters, and poor self image all seem to be contributing factors.
