I don’t have a problem with this, but people need to be ready for a big die-off event in the first few months, and increased responsibility on parents to inform their children about the dangers.

Ask Hillary Clinton.

And if you TRULY believe what you posted, great for you, but you're a very small minority, IMO.

Muh liberty.

If government has the power to tell you which drugs you are allowed to consume, it's not a big leap for the government to start telling you what food you're allowed to consume. It has already started in NYC with the soda ban. If liberals are ever able to get single-payer healthcare passed, that's all they will need to justify policing your diet...for the greater good. How long would it then take for liberals to ban meat and force everyone to become vegan to "reduce national healthcare costs"?

I'll be honest here, I have smoked my share and look forward to the day I can do it again from time to time. But from a former user to say that shite doesn't cloud your mind is just not true. I will also add I think alcohol is much more damaging drug and it's stupid green is illegal if alcohol is not.

More or less where I stand on it. I also had the chance to live in CO post legalization. They’ve had some issues with the revenue but that stems more from greedy politicians trying to reallocate money. It should be a non issue today, especially considering when you read back on how it became illegal in the first place. I certainly agree with the alcohol being more dangerous. It’s hard to take the anti pot people serious when I can go get a bottle of 151 that would have far more damaging conseqnces than rolling a joint.

Sessions sucks on weed. He's great on immigration. I'm okay with it. As long as when I visit California or Colorado it's whatever.

Legalize it all and use the tax money for rehab but not a dime more.

Is that fair?

There's no need for marijuana rehab. Use the taxes for schools and teachers like CO.

Do you believe this thread is about the war on drugs or is it about legalizing pot? I believe it's the latter.

Therefore, my question stands and I'll ask you: Why do you need drugs to face your life?

Thats a strawman.

There is no subject that--as you state--everyone can be applied to. In your opinion, how many who think this a huge issue are themselves drug users? Ballpark guess.

Chronic medical conditions. I ask YOU again. Why is it any of your fricking business, old man?

I don't think there would be a "die-off", but even if there was, drug consumption is a voluntary act. If people want to drink themselves to death, they are currently allowed to do it. If people want to smoke themselves to death (tobacco), they are currently allowed to do it. It's not the government's place to stop self-destructive people from engaging in self-destructive behavior.

Cool. That's why I said legalize "it all" though indicating more than just MJ.

I don't care if pot heads want to smoke pot or heroin addicts want to shoot up. Just don't ask the public to pay for rehab and don't steal to support your habit (not your habit specifically of course).

I didn't ask about that. ETA: Most states already allow pot or pot derivative medicines to be prescribed by doctors for chronic medical conditions. I know. I had pot pills prescribed for me to control nausea when I was going through chemotherapy. And that's in Louisiana which is not exactly liberal when it comes to drug laws.

You presented an interesting question, why are so many people seeking to alter their mental state?

I know when I used drugs it was a lot of escapism and trying to fit into the liberal sex, drugs and rock n roll lifestyle I was living, it got old and lost it’s appeal and I grew the hell up!

Will legalizing hard drugs make them so cheap that users will stop criminal behavior in order to obtain them? Honest question because I don't know the economics of drug legalization.

Did MJ get cheaper in CO?

What is wrong with what he said in that quote?

The implication is that Sessions "Doesn't care what laws states pass", and he'll grind them down anyway. But the quote simply has him wonder if it's best for the country to have more people have access to street drugs.

Not that complicated.
