I do it for daily migraine headaches and nausea. I should grow up, though, so I stop working so many hours and paying so much money into taxes. Much better.

Thats a strawman.

There is no subject that--as you state--everyone can be applied to. In your opinion, how many who think this a huge issue are themselves drug users? Ballpark guess.

100% of Americans are drug users (caffeine, alcohol, tobacco, ibuprofen, etc), so my guess is that 100% of anti-prohibitionists would be drug users.

As for how many use prohibited recreational drugs, I don't know. What I do know is that number is not 100% and supporting drug prohibition is an anti-liberty, fiscally liberal, Big Government position.

Yes, you DID ask about that. It's just not the stupid, hysteria fueled answer you wanted.
Nah. See my edit to my last post above.

States with legal weed have much lower levels of opioid abuse and teen use

So it's better that the kids are using dangerous street drugs than safe prescribed by Doctor medicine?

Where is the gotcha? He said that states have the right to pass whatever law they want but he doesn't think marijuana legalization is a good idea. Those are not mutually exclusive opinions.

I think that all drugs should be legal because I have no right to tell someone else what they can put into their bodies and support state legalization efforts. At the same time I have never done an illegal drug in my life, have no desire to, and think that taking drugs is a dumb thing to do that causes far more harm than good. Where is the incongruity in those opinions?

Woohoo government overreach.

Isn't it kind of a non issue? Have there been any cases that you know of where the federal government gets involved in simply personal use amounts of pot?

If a person wants to defend states rights then they also have to support states that have 3 strike laws. 3rd offense of over personal use amounts of pot...life sentence. Do you support that...until the laws are changed?

I'll be sure to tell both of my neurologists in NYC and the one in SF. Thanks for your expert opinion.

Edit: I sure did piss off a few of you snowflakes, didn't I? Toughen up, Southerners.

If California and those other five dopehead states want to go down that road let them.

I don't even know where to start. Economics, for one. Illicit markets, imperfect markets.

Link?

Or, are you confusing pot smoking with legal prescription of medicines made from marijuana by doctors? My prescription was in pill form of the active ingredient in marijuana, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

Sessions and pot are the most overblown issue.

One side acts like he is going to storm in and take down weed dispensaries in legal states.
The other side claims that he has no choice but to do so.

What’s he done? Not a thing.

So he’s not the evil stormtrooper some feared and others hoped for..

Do you believe this thread is about the war on drugs or is it about legalizing pot? I believe it's the latter.

Therefore, my question stands and I'll ask you: Why do you need drugs to face your life?

The prohibition of marijuana is part of the War on Drugs. They are one and the same.

Your leading question is silly. I don't take any drugs, legal or illegal. I don't drink anything with caffeine, I don't drink alcohol (don't like the taste), and I don't smoke tobacco or pot (don't like the smell). The last time I had any sort of drug in my system is when I broke my arm skiing about 10 years ago. I took some ibuprofen for a few days. The doctor gave me a prescription for a painkiller, but I never bothered filling it.

You can't beat that, so I'll turn this around. Why do you need drugs to face your life?
