I support MJ legalization.
But, a few things.
1. The AG isn't put in his position to enforce the laws I support. He's put in his position to enforce the laws.
2. The AG isn't put in his position to support state legislation. He is specifically there to support Federal legislation.
3. The "State's rights" mantra is silliness because state laws have never been allowed to overturn Federal law.
Now yeah. If everyone in congress was a Sessions clone, MJ would stay illegal forever.
But, the SOLUTION to the MJ issue resides in congress and a Presidential signature.
Pissing and moaning about an AG enforcing Federal law is just dumb.

I'll be honest here, I have smoked my share and look forward to the day I can do it again from time to time. But from a former user to say that shite doesn't cloud your mind is just not true. I will also add I think alcohol is much more damaging drug and it's stupid green is illegal if alcohol is not.

No, it will never "all be peace and love", but bringing black markets into the light does lead to a reduction (not an elimination) of violent crime. Violence decreased when we ended alcohol prohibition and violence will decrease if/when the federal government finally ends the unconstitutional War on Drugs.

Especially when he hasn’t in these cases..
If he did, fully enforce federal law with regards to MJ, it would be the quickest path to ending such laws.

Wait. Where’s the part where republicans are for State’s rights? Aren’t they against federal intervention into the internal matters of each State?
Sessions has been VERY clear: You want to change federal law on drugs (or anything else)? Do it through Congress.
Until then, he is obligated to enforce the laws on the books.

Why is he failing to meet his obligations?

But violence isn't the reason people want weed legalized. It's access.

Weed doesn't have medical uses the potheads just say that so they can trick innocent old people into voting for it

Do you know what a direct quote is? I ask because it appears you made up a quote from Sessions and made that the title of your post.

That's the reason I want weed (and all recreational drugs) legalized. Drugs are the primary source of income for gangs in America. If recreational drugs are legalized, then legitimate companies will enter the market, squeezing out the gangs. Gangs will certainly try to find other ways to make money, but none of their other options are as lucrative as recreational drugs.
But why does the motivation even matter? Don't results matter more than intent? Or do you believe intent is more important than results?

States with legal weed have much lower levels of opioid abuse and teen use.

They only care about feeling morally superior and having an inconsistent political ideology.
