so I'll turn this around. Why do you need drugs to face your life?
I don't. Any more questions?

Why do you believe that gangs wouldn't just pose as "legitimate" companies?

What if he just wants, but doesn’t need it? What if it isn’t to “face his life”?

Do you deny that caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, and ibuprofen are drugs?

You should pose that question to him, not me. He's the one who came up with it.

Do they do so in other, more profitable, industries?

Wait. Where’s the part where republicans are for State’s rights? Aren’t they against federal intervention into the internal matters of each State?

Did Sessions make the Federal drug laws? Did he create the DEA & ATF?

You know you don't have to agree with every politician that is on "your side".

Nah. I've been to Amsterdam too many times and seen druggies passed out in public parks while being administered CPR by medics from OD-ing. Those addicts didn't need heroin, they just wanted it, too, at some point.

Sorry, just checking in. Is the premise of this thread that the federal governmenet should not have attempted to curtail the spread of narcotics? That's what the CSA was created for after the FDA proved ineffective. I thought it was pretty universally accepted that the Feds domain was to control commerce among the several states. Didn't they put that in the Constitution?

Will legalizing hard drugs make them so cheap that users will stop criminal behavior in order to obtain them? Honest question because I don't know the economics of drug legalization.

Most likely not, they will just keep robbing, stealing, etc, and use that money for other fun things.

Gangs will try lots of things, but they will fail because if they were actually good at business, they'd already be running legitimate businesses. Posing as a legitimate business, competing against genuinely legitimate businesses is an unsustainable practice. It's not economically viable.

100% of Americans are drug users (caffeine, alcohol, tobacco, ibuprofen, etc), so my guess is that 100% of anti-prohibitionists would be drug users.
