Nobody understood computers 50 years ago either.

That same tech could also render a lot if its power mute as well.

Most people right can barely manage cash and retirement accounts let alone dabble in crypto

I think crypto will eventually become another thing separating the intelligent and few vs the masses

The Democrats have started to openly embrace socialism and socialist candidates. They've dominated the culture war even though Republicans have held the White House through most of the 70s, all of the 80s, most of 2000s, etc.

We were warned. We ignored it because the wall fell.

The communists (call them what they are)control the education system and indoctrination is a real thing.

12-16 years time, we will end as we know it.

1- Trump will be out in 2024
2- The next President will be a full blown socialist and they will push political violence and use the IC to stop opposition for the "good" of the world.

We will morph under that President.

This is what I am/plan on doing. Having a few peacemakers around doesn't hurt either.

We will have World Govt. It is the left's ultimate goal. Then no one will be able to run away from communism.

I didn't say things would crash any day

I just don't see how this pace can be sustained

Whether that's family units, government spending, or what not, I think our society implodes in my lifetime

I'm twice your age, and your concern about the future of America is definitely warranted. In the past few years I've lost many friends to suicide. All white, all male, all Veterans. In fact, lost another yesterday. Heavy heart Man...

White males accounted for 7 of 10 suicides in 2016.

The rate of suicide is highest in middle age — white men in particular.

Society has a way of correcting itself. We see cultural shifts from right to left and back again every decade or so.

I think we are overall drifting left, and I expect us to drift left further and further.

I do agree that we can't even conceive of what society will be like 50 years. The rate of technological change is just accelerating.

I imagine every generation has thought this for a long time now.

And I guess it all depends on your definition of "implodes".

I'm quite certain our society will look and feel very different in 50 years.

I don't think we will all be living in constant warfare or in some apocalyptic state though.

Call me an optimist, if you must.

Eventually one generation gets it right

Jerk off tech all you want, but that will not save us from sky rocketing single parent homes or the monster number of Americans who vote for their tax payer paid for benefits. Romney was right in 2012 re the 47%

Technology (things like crypto, decentralization, and AI) might just save regular people from the destruction their governments are hell bent on causing.

It's one of the few bright spots of the future in a sea of dark ones.

Generational doom has usually involved customs and manners. Things like crude language, sexual mores, music and art. But previous American generations never worried about the next one become totalitarian.

Historians from other countries have written about a unique American characteristic. "They don't like being told what to do".
That is changing.

Maybe.

I'm not jerking off tech. I think stating that technology will be a huge factor in how our society works in 50 years is kinda obvious and shouldn't be controversial.

Pretty simple minded thoughts, no?

Do I need to write a thesis for you to agree that single parent homes and government dependence are horrible things for society?

Nope. I'm not disagreeing that they are bad for our current society.
