Where do you guys see the U.S headed in the next 50-60 years?

I'm 25 and I'm coming to accept that the American experiment as we know it will likely end during my lifetime.
To start, we are getting dumber, lazier, fatter, and more dependent on the government by the decade. The Democrats have started to openly embrace socialism and socialist candidates. They've dominated the culture war even though Republicans have held the White House through most of the 70s, all of the 80s, most of 2000s, etc.
I just don't see where people magically wake up and start valuing the things that made this country what it is - private property rights, individual liberty, self reliance, etc.
Single motherhood is celebrated (so brave!)
Immigration just means you have to cross the border
Fiscal responsibility is ignored by both sides

To the stars with Trump's space force...but seriously, don't worry, Daddy Trump has got this

It could be really bad, like civil war bad, eventually. Or we can just vote out the socialists losers in the government. We will see.

I see Trump as stopping tide for a little bit.

I'm 58 so I won't see a lot of it....prayers sent for you guys cause shite gonna get worse. The best you can hope for is a civil war; clean it all up at once.

We are reliving the 60’s/70’s all over again. We’ll be fine outside of a world war with China

No, we aren't. Half of the country was not begging for socialism in the 60s. The nuclear family wasn't in the shitter, either

Who follows Trump and who follows them is what’s important, imo.

So, doesn't look good.

Not great. Concentrate on your families and raising your children the right way. I'm not going to let them stop me from those things. The most rewarding things in life.

I'm afraid Trump is going to embolden them to run someone in 2024 who will make HRC look conservative

I'm interested to see how ChineseBandit responds to this. He's been through some cycles with our nation and seen some shite.

Jobless future from automation bringing about mass civil unrest

Society has a way of correcting itself. We see cultural shifts from right to left and back again every decade or so.
The world 50 or 60 years from now will more than likely be so different from a technological view, that it will be very hard for anyone to have a real grasp on how we will be as a society.
Hell we might all be spending most of our time in a simulation at that point.

Most likely. They seem full speed ahead with the socialists agenda (controlling media and education, government sponsored jobs and healthcare, etc) but I still don’t think anything worst case scenario, such as civil war, would play out for a decade or so.

Lazy, bitter, fat, socially awkward citizens enjoying the benefits of their "democratic socialism"
