These quizzes always try to fit round pegs into square holes. Most people lean toward self-interest as a guiding principle.
Someone can oppose the "social safety net" but favor continuing to receive the SS and Medicare benefits they were taxed for and promised. So is that a "safety net" or a "retirment plan"?
Some people oppose all wars, some prefer to judge them on a case by case basis. Is that strong on defense or weak?
Some people support gay rights, including marriage, but no inkling of codified or de facto favoritism beyond rights guaranteed by the constitution. Is that favorable or unfavorable towards LGBTQetc.?
Some people favor legal immigration for people who can support themselves and their families, but not illegal immigration with promises of support if needed. Is that anti-immigration, or common sense in a country where Social Security is facing default?
Some people believe that our national debt is the most serious problem we face, based purely on compounding costs that can't be matched by ability to service in real terms. Is that fiscally conservative, or prudent? Is it unapologetic to understand that no one benefits when a country destroys its currency?

I agree with you, but think the opposite of the person your were responding to. I'm not filling it out but was glad I could walk through it.. until I started to the questions.
1: Would you rather:
-A smaller government providing fewer services
-A bigger government providing more services
2: How important is it for the US to...
maintain secure borders
-Extremely Important
-Very Important
-Somewhat Important
-Not To Important
-Not at all Important
Take refugees from countries where people are escaping violence
-Extremely Important
-Very Important
-Somewhat Important
-Not To Important
-Not at all Important
3: How many elected officials run for office because the wanted to serve the public?
-All of them
-Most of them
-Some of them
-A few of them
-None of them
4: Do you think same-sex marriages being legal in the U.S. is generally...
-Very Good For US
-Somewhat Good For US
-Neither Good Nor Bad For the US
-Somewhat Bad for the US
-Very bad for the US
5: How comfortable are you with people openly carrying guns in public places?
-Extremely Comfortable
-Very Comfortable
-Somewhat Comfortable
-Not That Comfortable
-Not at all Comfortable
Here are the first 5...Notice anything at all. Just look at the first. Sure I want the the most services provided, but no expense is given at all.. either in liberty or finances.
