What's the difference between a "DEI" hire and a "Good Ole Baw Network" Hire?

The OT baws love to complain about DEI hires but what about a good ole baw who got hired simply because he has a buddy at the company or is pals with the hiring manager?

Why is one acceptable and the other not?

UPDATE: Initial responses are neither are acceptable and both are bad...but I don't recall the good ole baws complaining about it. Looks like it's only DEI hires they want to complain about...wonder why

I don’t like either, and the result is often the same…incompetence.

one gets hired because they bring new perspectives and ideas to teams

the other gets hired because they bring the exact same thing thats already there

Good ole baw had to be somewhat competent and had to do some actual work. How the new hire performs reflects on the guy hiring him.

Neither are acceptable if the person isn't qualified to do the job. Even if they are minimally qualified, if someone else was more qualified/better fit, the better person should have got the job.

One of them has been systemically forced on industries and organizations.

Well because the good old boy network
no one calls it baw network you fricking putz

But that network was based on familiarity, similarity, common bonds .common friends, common networks, and family.
which meant that there was an underlying reason to get along at work because if you didn't there might be a reputation lost or the Uncle that helped you get the job would help again,, so the consequences

which with DEI there are none.. Other than the celebration and celebrity of victimhood which thay love

Good ole baw is probably qualified for the job even if he got the offer bc he knew someone.

DEI hire is usually not and only hired because of skin color and sometimes the “job” they are hired for isn’t even necessary for the business to do well

One involves COERCION and the other involves freedom of association.
Pretty simple.

This board loves to demonize minorities. It's pretty simple.

Define "baw." Where I am, "baw" would describe someone who likes doing blue collar work. So to me, the biggest difference is one will knowingly do work while the other wants to be hired based everything but their ability to work.

It's simple, OT baws can complain about the race of a DEI hire

Same analogy as Warren Buffett has made between recipients of food stamps and recipients of trust funds, neither bought their own meal ticket

orrrrrrr...underqualified baws got a job to "keep it in the family" simply to avoid benefiting another group you don't identify with? IDK maybe?
