Our apologies to fellow SEC brethren for not stopping them in Atlanta. We had their asses on the ropes early in that 4Q though.

There’s a baw that sets up on the side of hwy 82 past Tuscaloosa right before you get into Mississippi that has some great ones. Wife and I have stopped a couple times coming over for state games

A fellow Mississippi state alum broke up the not hitter.

Dawg on dawg crime
Not necessarily AI but just a big demographic shift that’s going to hurt colleges over the next decade plus.

Not as many 18 y/o’s as there used to be and the enrollment cliff is going to start hitting next year and beyond.

The big state universities should be able to weather the storm for the most part but some of these small colleges are in for a world of hurt.

MS as an example but the schools like delta state, MS valley, MUW etc are staring down the barrel of shite. Expect a lot of small college consolidation and closures over the next 10 years

One of my dad's cousins got married to the niece of a mafia boss. Her dad did not get into the family business but her uncles and grandfather were there. It was crazy to see a lot of those guys depicted in the 90s wave of mafia films.

Was the girl from meridian? I believe it is Carlos Marcellos’s brother that moved there to raise a family and stay out of the family business
Watched it last night. Imo it was far inferior to the tom Brady roast.

Way too much “I didn’t write this joke don’t get mad at me” going on

I love Shane and saw him in Birmingham last year but didn’t think he was that funny last night outside of a couple lines.

Tony was solid but not as good as he was in the Brady roast

Wtf was Draymond doing there. Terrible

The black guy at the beginning was actually decent

Overall give it like a 4/10 for roasts

It’s not as unique but the old way was a safety issue and lawsuit waiting to happen

I was lucky enough to be a student with the old dude and lounge. I saw so many drunk people hit their heads on random metal pieces that would jut out of the rigs. Also was on top of our fraternity rig several times with way too many people and it would get a little uncomfortable being on that old, rusty rig with 25 people on top

Also, saw an ole miss student talking shite during a big Saturday game get pelted in the head with an unopened miller lite tall boy.

It had way more character but yea in this day and age a lawsuit waiting to happen. Eventually one of those rigs would’ve collapsed during a game and we’d have big issues
Random thought I just had.

Yall know how Vrabel calls out the female reporter first at every press conference? Smart move by him considering it gets him a lot of goodwill from the media and people on social media think “oh he seems like a good guy”

It always struck me as out of character for him. I’d bet Russini told him to start doing that

quote:

“This a tough business, I think, for females, for women. You know, breaking in,” Vrabel explained to ESPN’s Mike Reiss. “And when I got to Tennessee, I was trying to get to know everybody. And there’s Teresa, and she was plugging away and she’s always right there in front, super attentive. So I just figured out of respect for her, I’d give her the first question and it kind of stuck.”

I live in Central MS. I see it all the time

Those people aren’t state or ole miss fans. They’re just Mississippians who root for the entire state. I actually know some people like that but I don’t characterize them as actual fans because they aren’t.

To act like there’s a sizable contingent of state fans who root for ole miss is laughable

Definitely not Mississippi State. Some of you have reversible jerseys with Rebel blue on the other side. Even the old guys flip back and forth, depending on how the wind blows.

 what? That is no where close to true. Been born and raised in Mississippi and traveled all around and know people in every corner of this state. I have never come across a fan such as you are describing

Now, there are people in NE Mississippi who are Alabama football fans and Miss state baseball fans. That’s a rare one but a weird one.

Interesting. It isn't listed on the official Archives.gov site so I'm guessing it isn't official?

I’m not sure why but from the article I linked it states “the collection came to MSU in 2009 and the presidential library status was established in 2012”

It may be because we don’t have a standalone building dedicated to it yet. We currently house the library on the top floor of the student library

Surprisingly and a bit ironically Mississippi State is home to the Ulysses S Grant Presidential library and we recently unveiled a new project for a development/building dedicated to it.

Should be #1.

Alabama fans are loyal to winning. So are most of the rest. South Carolina fans are loyal to South Carolina.

I’d put Texas A&M #2. MSU and Ole Miss tied for #3.

Pretty spot on imo

I’ve always said our fanbase, fan for fan is one of the most loyal and passionate in college sports. The overwhelming majority of our big 3 season ticket holders live 2+ hours away and Starkville is very isolated, not a lot of hotels etc.

the fact we are able to pull 50-60k consistently for football, 7-10k for basketball and 12-15k for baseball is impressive when you factor in the size of our fanbase relative to our peers, the amount of travel required compared to our peers and our overall success (especially football). Every other SEC program is either in a major metro area or very close to one or more.

Secret service really has become a joke. Women who can't handle firearms, a guy giving away locations for presidents, this dude, etc etc

I wonder if the expansion of the secret service is to blame. I imagine they’ve added 100’s or even 1000’s of agents in the last few years with the assassination attempts. Casting a wider net for recruitment

Out of all of the chain sub restaurants, Firehouse is the best of the bunch by quite a lot IMO

Firehouse is still damn good or at least the on near my office is.

I used to be team jersey mikes but have noticed they’ve dipped in quality recently depending on the location. One near my house is terrible but one by my office is well run and still good.

Schlotskys was also another favorite but haven’t had that in years
I was always a Dramamine and no dark liquor the night before kinda guy.

Got seasick on my first offshore trip when I was young after a night of drinking brown liquor. It was so bad that had to drop me off on an old rig structure so I could be on solid ground for a few minutes. I never want to feel that shite again so I take extra precaution and I’ve never had an issue again

Tried this out Monday night with the wife and it was fantastic. I liked it a lot better than armour house

The variety and quality of oysters was phenomenal, cool little atmosphere and great service. I’d also add the pogo bar to the downtown list as well. It’s underneath armour house and really cool place

Honest answer. Humanity has it so good these days in comparison to 99% of human history and instead of worrying about securing food stores, surviving a plague, or going off to battle for some lord we occupy our minds with loads of dumb unimportant bullshite
