This keeps getting thrown around, but we have them beat over 4:1 in combat tonnage. Plus, China has NEVER been a maritime power. They simply don't know how to do it....which is why England, France, Russia, and Japan have always had their way with them.

Our best course of action would probably be just to close the Strait of Malacca and Timor Sea and keep it closed until such a time as Xi abdicated power AND China completely disarms. Keep in mind that China imports 75% of their energy and 75% of their food and agricultural inputs through that waterway. With it closed, China loses half their population to famine in under a year.

I just don't see China making that move. They'll never take the semiconductor fab facilities intact and wouldn't know how to operate them even if they did. All they'd get is a small mountainous island with no natural resources and 25 million mouths to feed. Could Xi try anyway because he's an egomaniac? Sure. But it'll be the end of Xi and the end of China.

How strong of a military does Japan have, being on a leash?

They have the 2nd strongest blue water expeditionary navy in the world. The strongest one is holding the leash, both militarily and economically.

To be fair, I'm not sure we know how to do it either. our Navy is a joke of wrecks and navigation issues over the last decade and we apparently have lost the ability to protect the seaways as well based on how much the Houthis are fricking up global trade.

Thank you!

Much of those big numbers listed as part of the China navy would be a normal work boat in south La.

And I'm not sure China could even get their boats and logistics support over to Taiwan.

Chips are a small part of all this. We still do not want China to take Taiwan because it'll just be the first step of their conquest goals.
The CCP is hellbent on taking over as the premier world power. This isn't the boogeyman Russia. They want expansion because like Japan in WW2, they are doomed without doing so.

1. Why didn't China invade Taiwan during Trump?
2. Why didn't Russia invade Ukraine during Trump?
3. Why are you so stupid if you're so educated?

Complete 100% economic warfare. Boycott all Chinese products and companies. Boycott all nations who do not join the US boycott. Confiscate all Chinese money and goods that we can lay our hands on. This will bring China to its knees quickly.

Trump started the process of insulating ourselves from China. We have been strategically reshoring critical things. Fortunately this was one of the only Trump policies that dodo continued. Keep doing that. China is racing to position itself to strike and we are racing to position ourselves for economic warfare. We should win this one easily.

simply stop feeding them.

Stop allowing oil tankers into Chinese water

Etc. Etc.

They suck. They made a terrible population mistake on top of being a communist dictatorship.

They aren’t even remotely close to US Naval capabilities

Supported by the ATF. All of them. And we can support them with the DoE. All of them.

That would be a good start.

China’s a pretty tough adversary, best send every member of the FBI, CIA, ATF, IRS, DOD, DHS, CID, NRO, NSA, DEA, DOE, CDC, NIH, and DoE just to be safe.

Instead of focusing on war. I wish the US government was focusing on producing our own upstream supply chain. The politicians are just too corrupt and want to make money off the cheap labor overseas.

Do Taiwan a favor and end all foreign subsidies to the region.

The United States is too mercurial and duplicitous an ally.

Taiwan, Japan and South Korea could pool their resources to create a mutual defense league which should include developing a nuclear weapons program as a deterrent to Chinese aggression.

Whatever transpires, I’ve learned through many years of observation that when it comes to foreign policy, a good rule of thumb is to vigorously oppose whatever Lindsay Graham or Chuck Schumer suggest.
