Definitely. But the outer fringes of both sides make the most noise and get the most attention these days. Trump has been hated by 50% of the population since day one...that's never going to change. Hell, if everything went perfectly right from here on out he would still barely break 40% favorability at the end of his term.
But to get back to OP
Trump voters are not voting for Talarico...Cornyn voters are not voting for Talarico and Talarico is not going to excite the Dem base, or idependents for that matter, as much as is being touted.
There is no "staggering advantage"...Paxton wins.

Paxton is unlikeable and corrupt. Cruz was merely just hard to like .
Also, Cruz is a decent guy, despite what one may think of his policy positions. Paxton is not and that is evident in the lack of money flowing to him as well as the fact that his own party in Texas voted to impeach him and his wife just divorced him.

corrupt? you didn't watch the impeachment hearing. some of the top guys in the attorney generals office that went to the fbi were called to testify in the impeachment hearing. under cross examination, they looked like fools. they had nothing. they could not produce anything of a crime by paxton. yet even now, talarico's ads say paxton is so corrupt that his top guys went to the fbi on him.

So why did his own people bring out information on him? Why did the the State House which is overwhelmingly Republican voted to impeach him?

Just saw the first anti Talarico ad run this morning. The pro republican campaigns in Texas traditionally don't get going until mid September. The Democrats always start much earlier and have unopposed campaigns to build their narrative and support foundation.

There are two keys voting blocks to watch in this race.
1. How many RINOs(the Bush/Rove clan types for example) refuse to vote for Paxton because they hate him
2. How much of the Black vote Talarico actually gets & how many will stay home & refuse to vote for him.
The Jasmine Ratchet Crockett/Collin Allred Black power clan hate Talarico’s guts & are not endorsing him or campaigning for him as of yet. They could just be waiting for a payoff so we will see.
I just don’t see straight Black & Hispanic males voluntarily going to a polling place & pressing a lever for a White effeminate, obviously closeted Austin soy boy with serious mental problems.

Agree, but I do have some concern about the unknown number of Democrats and Rinos that have moved into Texas.
Paxton has beaten the Bush Rove faction twice, and the Black population is not voting Talarico.
Talarico is going to get the same vote that Beto received so it comes down to the votes that move away from Paxton and the new voters.
