The problem with universal healthcare is we don't have a secure nation. Our border policies have created a massive indigent class of people that have paid virtually nothing into the system they have become dependent upon.

Would Dems trade a Trump border deal for all his desires for a universal healthcare deal?

I don't support school vouchers. If a religious school can't depend on God to supply its needs, then they don't practice what they preach. Plus, they can and do cherry pick the students they want and leave the rest to public schools.

I'm very torn on the death penalty and actually lean towards abolishing it. Then I see some crime where a 2 year old was raped or a 90 year old was beaten with a hammer and I want to see them punished harshly, slowly, and painfully.

I'm also against school choice.

Tell us you're a flaming democrat without actually saying it.

I think it's possible, but any deal would need to be contingent upon certain metrics being met. The numbers I would require would be very strict, and I have hard time believing any politician is willing to be held accountable.

Mainly because we're talking a decade's worth of effort to accomplish the types of security that I would demand. It's anathema to the average politician, because they need results fast for their constituents or they seem ineffective and have nothing to campaign on.

While we're dreaming, I'd also want term limits and a cap on overall campaign contributions.

I’m conflicted about abortion. I feel awful for a child who might be forced to grow up in a situation where the parents, or a parent, want nothing to do with them. Just leading to a life of resentment and abuse.

Parents literally spend tens of thousands to adopt Chinese, African, Ukrainian, and other babies... why is the default that the baby has to stay with the mom?

American babies for American families.

We are eager to import millions of worthless immigrants, yet we execute our own before they take their first breath of air?

This. I don't give two shits what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home. Be gay, be trans, be swingers, ne a furry, what ever.

Don't highlight any of it, or ANY sexuality in schools. Kids are there to learn valuable things like reading, writing, arithmetic, history, etc. Not this gender shite.

I also have no problem with weed. Personally I don't have any interest in it, and it smells terrible. But if alcohol is legal, why isn't weed? (I know why, it's too easy to grow and can't be taxed).

The only thing you could say I break from pure constitutional/conservative doctrine is the National Park Service and system.

1. I have no problem with electric cars. Some of them have amazing performance. Still don’t want them shoved down my throat (I drive a 4WD diesel).

2. I don’t care where people shove their penis (militant trans shite is different).

3. I’m a pretty solid conservationist, but I don’t think that’s non-conservative. I like trees, wildlife, and wide open spaces.

Universal healthcare

There is a blueprint for a government health care and that is the VA (right?).. So we know not what to do. I have heard good things and bad things about the VA.. There needs to be an NGO running the health care that is highly watched with checks and balances from an outside source... Get rid of the Medicare and Medicaid.. That is riffed with fraud... I am sure someone is using my name to get health care fraudulently right now.. it's been done before...

We have to find a way to embrace the hispanic community. I've lived in my place in the country on and off and on again for twenty years. I've watched that community grow. They work hard. And we shouldn't alienate them. So the Republican Party needs to move from being a white mans party.

The free market is both ineffective and inefficient in managing the Healthcare sector of the economy.

Some degree of safety net from destitute poverty is neccesary for any 1st world nation.

This topic almost deserves its own thread because it just gets into all sorts of nuances

In Europe even the smaller cities were connected and there were regular rail lines that people were used to using for commuting

The United States is far more spread out than any one of these countries cities are further apart not all major cities are necessarily where people want to go and you look at plane travel now that's all high-speed rail would be an alternate mode but not necessarily cheaper or more comfortable for the rider so wheres the market?

Like greyhound from the seventies ,, why spend tax dollars on creating that when we can get wherever we want to go already

Oh Dear God, where tf do I start?

Fow now, I support Trump 100% but I'm no MAGA person really.

#1 above all else, full and ridiculous transparency of all local, state and government activities. This is honestly more of a Democrat failure.

Universal healthcare. We all need it. It would be cheaper and better than the system we all have now though I have to admit my current healthcare policy would suffer for it.

High speed rail and prioritize public transportation. With you here. I would like to see it be just like UK.

Remove dangerous chemicals from food.

Treat cannabis like tomatoes. Grow it, sell it, eat it (smoke it) however you like. Tax it like tomatoes too. There's little money to be made here really.

Very strong defense. Make Euro countries (esp. Scandinavian ones, Germany, France, etc) pay their fair share of NATO.

Empire build through capitalism and by military force where necessary. American way of life (English speaking, Christian and Capitalist culture) is good for everyone. Convert the masses esp. the middle east or send them back to the stone age.

Demand a share of the oil profits since we help create stability for OPEC to make good money.

Double allowances for legal immigration but zero tolerance for illegal immigration. Cut green cards to Indians and other Asians by 75%. Wanna come here? Come here and be American. Keep your heritage but your heritage is now 40% whatever and 60% American. Don't like it? Stay in your shithole country.

I would define myself as Conservative Progressive. That is, I believe in progress where we know we can achieve it but leave shite alone that will not be helped much by change. Progressives are usually thought of as Democrats but the Democratic Party since JFK has become so inept they cannot be trusted with running the country.

They now concern themselves way more with the whole woke and social gospel thing. They have no idea what true stewardship is. In my view, Trump would run the country 100x better. We certainly were better off when he was in office, were we not?

As such, I have voted Republican for some now and not really ever been enthused about it until President Trump. I know he doesn't like a lot of my ideas but I trust that he is the best man for the job until someone better shows up.

Universal free lunches and healthcare for school aged children is about it.

They can’t provide for themselves so we as a country should do it.
