He’s incorrect. Christians and Muslims worship a different God. Christians worship a single God in three persons, where Muslims don’t. Christians worship Jesus as the second person of the divine godhead, while Muslims call such a thing blasphemy; Jesus is just a man to them.

Catholics would consider it blasphemy for Protestants to reject papal authority or not believing the Eucharist is the actual blood and body of Christ.

I have looked at both. I’ve also looked at the historical developments of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Historically speaking, it is generally understood that they worship the same god. That doesn’t mean that they’re not fundamentally different conceptions of that god among those religions.
