The midterms have nothing to do with Trump and everything to do with what the GOP Congress do between now and then

If Iran somehow regains military capability (not likely given how the IDF is kicking their arse and how we'll be monitoring them constantly), then we destroy it from afar. We're offering peace. If they want to expend their limited resources to attack, that's on them.
So you're saying retaliate on the down low? I can see that working, maybe.

i don't see how it is an end to any conflict unless trump and others are expecting Iran to just lie down and capitulate for some reason that nobody knows about.
Well they have done symbolic-only responses before, which wouldn't lead to escalation on our end.
This situation seems different. I mean full on war from Israel and us bombing Iran with a bomb never used before in human history leads me to think the difference is real.

if we're being honest, they have no reason to. American public has let it be known that it will not stomach another middle east conflict where we're sending troops into a meat grinder with no discernible objective in the end.
We say this now, but look at how the neocons came back in such large numbers on here. They have been saying that talking point too and it's all bullshite. Hell, we're even getting copy-paste neocon bullshite talking about all the historical Iranian aggression, which is completely irrelevant to the bombing Saturday (at least if we believe it was about the nukes).

You then need to be more like me. I voted for Trump at least as many times as you. But I have a realistic view of the United States role in the world. We will do what we have to do.

It takes a special kind of delusion to see bombing a country as extending an olive branch. I doubt you’d see it the same way if our roles in this conflict were reversed.

If someone like me will vote MAGA out of office if they initiate a ground war then they are done. It's not going to happen.

NO chance? There is no response by Iran that wouldn't get boots on the ground? Another 911?

Exactly. There's a false bravado about the 24 election. Things are still VERY CLOSE.

End of ? New ? This is the only two considerations you got? Could it possibly be a continuation of 2 very different views of how governments looks at their citizens? One is a bit more restrictive I think. One is openly expressing the end of other people and supports terrorism.

As I told stout earlier, the people spiking the football see Saturday's bombing as the end of a conflict, when others see it as the beginning of a new conflict.
Still not a new conflict.

Agree, as long as the nominee doesn’t have any strong ties to this administration, they may have a chance.

The real question is JD. His TV skills are off the charts but is he truly America First or just a good reader of the wind? I'm hopeful but it's an open question.
