So this is basically a registry on all new gun sales. They will track the serial number to the background check.

Isn't the background checks that already exist simply a way for the government to know who has a gun already anyway?

This is going to really upset members of street gangs now that they will have to do a background check on whoever they sell their stolen guns to...

I don’t own any guns. I also don’t know of any Conservatives that own guns.

I would imagine that there are plenty of Dems that this could apply to though.

Without a registry there is no way to enforce. Currently gun owners have no way of proving ownership of any of them unless you kept every gun store receipt. No way to prove ownership of any aquired in past friend to friend sales. This is a stepping stone to slip a registry up our asses when we aren’t looking

So no person-to-person sales? How would they know?

this will never stop. however, when the gun gets stolen, it's normally not registered. that's the only downfall.

Right. If there is no registry, and no recording of the background check, the only enforcement possible is to catch someone in the act.

In addition to an infringement,
I do believe this is a deprivation of property without due process.

It’s not a Gun Show Loophole and never has been. They’re outlawing all private gun transactions. If I want to sell a rifle to a friend, under this law I have to find an FFL holder to run a background check and conduct the sale. That won’t be a free service.

I can, however, give guns away as much as I want.

I bet he was thankful for that discount.

This bill creates a registry.

On the one hand you have the totalitarian set, pushing for this, and on the other, you have the happy slaves, who want to be controlled by someone. The less freedom the better.

What will this country be like in ten years?

Ooooh, that's incorrect English grammar. You left out an adjective:

"new common sense gun control laws."
