If they require a background check on every transfer, you can bet your arse that will become the registry whether they admit to it or not. It will be a record kept of where every gun listed is.

DO NOT COMPLY.

Same laws England had in the late 1700s. So what's the big deal?

Right. If there is no registry, and no recording of the background check, the only enforcement possible is to catch someone in the act.

Gun sellers are required to keep a record of all sales for 20 years. Accessible records for federal law enforcement.

It's not a registry, "per se", but they can keep track of who initially purchased the gun from a FFL.

If govt is going to get into the business of monitoring friend to friend deals or family transfers, they can suck a bag of dicks

It was pure sarcasm.

Once Patriots draw their line does it really matter what legislation is passed on the other side?

They'll enforce it as follows:

Buy gun from dealer
Sell gun to someone else
Gun changes hands and eventually gets picked up by cops
Cops run ATF trace and find you listed as original purchaser
Cops come arrest you

What about all the guns that have been stolen?

How many guns get picked up by cops? Without a registry how will they even know who it belongs to? What if it was sold 10x before this proposed law would even be signed in?

You are supposed to report such crimes.

All of mine have been stolen, lost in a boating accident or burnt up in a house fire.

Those bastards are trying to destroy the tradition of handing down family heirloom guns.

They want to make criminals out of law abiding citizens- those who are NOT committing crimes.

Steve Scalise Tweeted this earlier.

quote:

BREAKING ? House Democrats just REJECTED an amendment that would have required ICE to be notified if an illegal immigrant tries to buy a gun.

But they’re fine taking away the gun rights of law-abiding American citizens.

If anyone thinks these gun control moves are about reducing crime, they are ignorant as hell.

If this becomes law, this country will see more civil disobedience from otherwise law abiding citizens since its founding- as it should.

This is just a small, incremental step to justify further gun control legislation.

Next up:

Federal sales tax on garage sales.

This sets the standard and where it’s heading.

why won't someone pass a bill requiring the vigorous enforcement and punishment of EXISTING gun laws.

or caught with a stolen gun - 10 years - period end of story

All their doing is aiding Patriots! More first time buyers coming and prices of ammo going up/bad! But guns going into the hands of majority are law abiding citizens/patriots.
The ranges are going to be crowded.
