22 million people had H1N1 and we didn't hear shite about it till it was over.
H1N1 had a mortality rate of ~.01%-.08% and an R0 of ~1.5.
COVID-19 has an R0 of around 2 and the global mortality rate had been 3.4% for almost the last month, it's now 3.6% (thanks, Italy). At the very least COVID-19 is more contagious than H1N1, the jury is still out on the mortality rate though (it may end up coming down to which countries are best set to deal with pneumonia and double-pneumonia).
tl;dr - ridiculous comparisons are ridiculous.

So basically 16 deaths once you set aside the 12 that died due to negligence in that nursing home?
That's not as bad as I thought it would be.

In 2009? That was ~60 million (~30k deaths, too).

32 deaths. This doesn't get graded on a curve. There are plenty of nursing homes, assisted living facilites, etc around the country.

It it just me or does the OP purposely not update the recoveries?

Medical personnel at Vandy just tested positive. All in person classes shut down at Vanderbilt rest of the semester

Each recovery deals a small blow to his hysterical narrative.

A nice move down in the CFR this PM
It was COMPLETELY predictable AND, will continue.

I'd like to see where it settles in when we have ~ 10,000 cases. That's a solid n.
quote:Um, I mean...….this just in. The world exists outside our borders. We have the information we need to not be in a dead panic. But, filth like you WANT a panic.
The CDC continues to limit testing. As well as no longer releasing data. From the CDC website:

I’m not sure we have a good handle on what recovery looks like.

Cause they don't report or talk about it?
Not a popular narrative right now it seems.

1135 people
Let’s shut down the country
I wouldn’t give a frick if it was 1135 people in my county

Notice how the cases and deaths grow, but boatshoes “recovered” number has been stuck at 8 for over a week?

Covid-19 would need to prove 10-fold more lethal than H1N1 to justify the coverage it has received.
Well good thing it has been

during the first year of the 2009-2010 H1N1 pandemic, an international research group said on Friday, but the death rate was just 0.02 percent.

quote:
At a congressional hearing this afternoon, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, suggested that COVID-19 is is considerably more dangerous than run-of-the-mill flu. He observed, "The flu has a mortality rate of 0.1 percent. This has a mortality rate of 10 times that. That's the reason I want to emphasize we have to stay ahead of the game in preventing this."
meaning 1% (or 50 times more lethal than H1N1)
LINK
I mean even the seasonal flu is 0.1% (5x more lethal than H1N1)
H1N1 just isn't a good comparison to COVID 19. It had an estimated R0 of about 1.5 (COVID 19 is between 2 and 2.5) and has a much lower mortality rate.
Is it being overhyped? Yes
Is it going to be worse than H1N1? Yes
