That video may not be batteries but battery fires are no fricking joke. Tons of LiPo batteries on youtube.

you skip high school chemistry? Especially the day the teacher mixed water and a sliver of magnesium?
Me thinks it was you who skipped Chem. Magnesium and water produces Mg(OH)2 and H. All you will get from a long strip of magnesium in water is a few hydrogen bubbles that will slow down as the magnesium hydroxide slowly coats the surface. The reaction is not highly exothermic. You can ignite the hydrogen coming off but it doesn't produce much hydrogen and a sliver probably would produce enough to ignite unless you actively collected.
You are probably thinking of alkali metals such as potassium or sodium which also produce hydroxides and hydrogen but are exothermic enough to ignite the hydrogen. Lithium is also an alkali metal and is exothermic enough to ignite the hydrogen which is relevant here (or it would be if the video wasn't a propane truck) but you likely saw sodium in chem class which is the most often used to demonstrate the characteristics of alkali metals and water.

I knew the batteries would catch fire and burn very intensely, but I had no idea that they could explode like that. That is just insane.

Need to get Kerry and AOC and Kamala and of course Biden close to one of these fires and let them feel the heat and fire blasts and maybe lose some skin hairs.........
then they may ban these dangerous electric vehicles.

Firefighters have to carry more than water now because of these things.
They burn hot a.f and it takes a ton more water to put one out and when it burns it tears up the road.

Had someone correct me on this and say the video is from Russia and it was a truck carrying propane tanks.

Now do a youtube search of actual EVs on fire. They're not much better than this video, smart guy.

Exactly, this explosion of 2 gassers proves they have to be banned now. A fire like this is exactly what you would expect when burning highly combustible chemicals to power vehicles. Whoever though putting a whole tank of highly flammable gas right below a family driving 70mph clearly didn’t pass elementary school science. Ban the exploding gassers now or they may blow up the entire country.
