The $155,000 cap is per person usually. So if you have a farm operation a lot of times a farmers have their wife’s together on the operation, which classifies it as a partnership operation So if that’s the case you and your wife can get up to $310,000 but if your a sole operator it’s only $155,000.

There are a whole lot of farms that aren’t corporate farms that earn that much. That’s a pretty low number.

I think this is also calculated per owner of the operation. Each owners personal income must be under 900k. This is why you see farmers buy a bunch of shite they don’t need in good years, gotta get that number down. So new F250s, new side by sides “for the farm” etc

The grain elevators, catfish processors, equipment dealers and manufacturers, seed and chemical companies are all that’s keeping these delta towns alive

Typical government subsidized industry behavior. Farmers have lived that way for generations, but lots of industries live on government support. Doesn’t matter which party is in office. This instance though is entertaining because the problem was caused by the person getting credit for fixing the crisis.

And then neocons like you wonder how china buys so much of our farmland.

Strategic industries are always protected, and it makes sense to do so.

Its not like it is wasting money on unproductive people.

Spot on. We got too many dumbasses around that don’t understand that our ability to produce food gives as much strength as our military.

Trump quadrupled AG subsidies in his first term.

This term has just started. Are you OK with this happening again? Or do we need to draw the fricking line?

I’m fine spending money on Ag. Take it out of the military and other parts of the budget. It is a priority.
You should spend your time screaming about what they are spending on. Mainly defense. That shite has been out of control for 50 years.
We should do whatever we have to do to help our farmers and our Ag industry. It’s the heart of our country.

If the Somolis can steal 5-8 billion and no one gives a shite I don't give a shite how much Trump gives the farmers.

Farmers = America

Somolis = Pile of shite

Wouldn't it be better to buy up the product and use it for WIC/SNAP? At least you're killing two birds with one stone.

If Trump decided to propose an idea that mirrored the Green New Deal, I think some here would support it without question just because Trump proposed it.

This isn't about vegetables.
Soybeans and feed corn require a hell of a lot of processing before being used in animal feed or food for human consumption.

China stopped buying U.S. soybeans for several months, most notably during the key harvest season beginning in the fall.
I am not soybean farmer but was buying a large sack of corn from a farmer and a large 18 wheeler full of soybeans that had just been picked rolled. He was headed to the silo or storage bin to empty for sale in January. So they don't sell their product when it's picked. They can wait on prices to improve.

It has been caused by years of failed ag policy, and past administrations entering into trade agreements with other countries with only the US playing by the rules and not holding the others accountable. Agriculture goods and specifically rice is used for political leverage by many many other countries and specifically Asian. For them, Rice is the equivalent to our dollar or our oil supply

Socialism is attractive to many, for this reason. Sadly they believe it too.

Some can. Some can't as they have to pay bills.

Mandami is blushing with the way Trump has been sending out socialist policies lately. If it weren't for immigration Trump might run parallels to that idiot
